1992 NX2000 - Rust Free Body - Track Oriented Upgrades - Needs Motor...

SOLD

Circumstances are such that I need to sell my NX. I love the car, but I have recently moved to Southern California and I can't justify the time and expense to bring the car out here from New Jersey.

I left the car garaged at my Aunt's house when I moved at the end of July and it has been residing there since. I recently flew back to New Jersey, took the car out for a drive up to Connecticut to visit friends, and the motor spun a bearing as I crossed over into New York. At least I think that's what happened - the car starts up, runs and drives, but there is a loud banging which developed and reciprocates with the engine. The engine oil level was up to full, but I must admit I was enjoying the upper rev range of the engine, which, if it is original, has about 165k on it.

Here's the thread I posted when I bought the car at auction: http://www.sr20forum.com/members-rid...ay-nx2000.html

Since buying it, I tuned it up, cleaned it up, and upgraded it sensibly with quality parts intending to keep it as a track day car. Thus I went through the brakes completely and replaced the worn out stock suspension. I didn't do much to the motor because I planned to track it and wanted it to be reliable. I figured the motor would probably let go eventually anyway, I just had hoped to actually get it on a track first, which never happened... Ah, the best laid plans...

Below is a current mod list. If I forgot something I'll amend it. All parts were purchased new and have less than 1000 miles on them unless otherwise marked.

ENGINE/PERFORMANCE:

Place Racing CAI - pulled from my old '93 SE-R but NEW K&N Filter
SSAC 2.5” Header
Prothane Engine Mounts - used from the forum
Energy Suspension Shift Stabilizer Bushing
Summit Battery Relocation Kit
Duralast Miata Battery

SUSPENSION:

Progress Coilovers
Ground Control Camber Plates - used from Greg Amy
Bolt-In-Bars RSTB
Autopower Roll Bar - used from ChrisCar
Whiteline Caster Bushings

BRAKES:

New Stock AD22VF Calipers
New Blank Rotors
Goodridge SS Lines
New Reman. Altima Master Cylinder

WHEELS/TIRES:

15x8 +35 Rota RB
225/45/15 Hankook Z212
H&R 5mm Front Spacers and Studs
H&R 15mm Rear Spacers and Studs

EXTERIOR

Vis Carbon Fiber Invader Hood - used from crznx2000
Clear Turn Signals and Front Sidemarkers

INTERIOR

’93 SE-R Seats on the NX Rails - pulled from my old '93 SE-R
Pioneer CD player and Front Speakers - pulled from my old '93 SE-R
Razo Shift Knob and Pedals - pulled from my old '93 SE-R
NOS Floormats - bought on eBay - they were still new in box!

INCLUDED PARTS

MS Design Front Lip Spoiler
Subaru STi 2.5” Muffler
Fidanza 10lb Flywheel
Energy Suspension Shifter Bushings
Energy Suspension Steering Rack Bushings

Here is the gallery link to all of the photos I've taken of the car since I bought it: http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-7/293694/1896188

I would like to get $3500 for the car as it sits. That means I'm taking a $1700 loss on the project, which is more than I originally bought the car for. I am not willing to part the car out since I'm residing across the country - please don't ask. This is a rust-free NX that lived most of it's life in Nevada. It's got a lot of nearly new and expensive parts on it. With a new DE installed and some S4s, or a VE dropped in, this car would be a fantastic track toy.

Thanks,

Marco

Ok, I've received numerous pm's and I've also noticed that there is at least one very similar car currently for sale ...Well, it's got a good motor, but not the good suspension...

So... In light of that, would I have any takers for $3000??

At minimum, you're getting:

A) A rust-free NX2000 body - I'd say that's worth $1500
B) Practically brand new Progress Coilovers (with the GC plates) - $1000
C) Perfect fitment 8-inch wheels with brand new 225s - $1000
D) A bunch of other parts installed including an Autopower rollbar...

Yes, I realize the motor has a spun bearing, but this car plus a $300 DE will tear up the track!

C'mon guys!

He said he WASN'T parting it out....

This car is Uber clean...my company issues force me into not being able to get this now. For $3000 all you need to do is find a nice DE/VE and drop it in. Close the CF hood and you are DONE !!

I can vouch for it-no rust whatsoever and Marco is one of the most meticulous owners out there. Whoever buys this is getting a whole lot of car for the money.

Thanks George. I so wish you could have this car...

Again guys, this car lived most of its life in Nevada! Reno specifically - the Carfax and some receipts found support that.

The car is currently garaged in West Orange NJ.

That is a well done NX, perfect for the track. A VE would be great in this car. If I wasn't deployed I would have been all over this. Good luck to you with the sale.

I bought my third egg while I was deployed last time, got it from a guy in GA, and paid him to deliver it to NC for me
