Anyone using koni's up front with GC plates? If so I have a few questions...
1.
Did you notice that if you compress the strut with the GC top hat (designed for their plate) bearing assembly and plate in place, the top hat hits the top of the insert before the strut bottoms? If so how did you adjust yours?
2.
What bolt did you use to hole the top of the strut in the GC plate. I have my old KYB AGX nut that is the same diameter as the joint in the GC plate that I would like to re-use...

If I am understanding that correcty if you had the bumpstop in place that would never happen. So there really is no problem. Unless I am not understanding the question.

GC has Koni specific nuts for the car that you need.

After calling and ordering $162 in parts I realized that I already have the correct nuts. I confused them for AGX nuts, granted mine are old and looking ragged. I also ordered two new camber plate "plates" and new rear top hats just in case.
Does anyone know if the lower perch on the Spec V shock is lower than the B14? I put B15 Konis on my 200, and when I swapped the rears, I just removed the GS sleeve and perch and installed them on the Konis. I never messed with the height, and now the rear is 1/2 inch lower than it was before.

There is a 1/4" difference in overall length and a 1/4" difference in perch height (these measurements relative to the center of the mounting bolt hole)
I'm sorry I didn't copy everyone else's setup. If you need a preacher to tell you what mods to put on your car, the Reverend Veilside180sx might have a suggestion.

I both scanned and searched this thread for any mention of price.
Lets get down to money for a second.

Sling me some dollar amounts please so I can fill in the XXX's.
Is this pricing information from The Suspension Thread still accurate? Does it need to be modified, is it missing any new parts you are using?

Koni's (adjustable, but you need to take them off to do it) = $535
Install them shorter in the front= $75 (this is it for the b14)
Install all 4 into housing for the b13 housings = $125
Shorter all the way around = 150 (not needed on the b13, not possible on the b14)
Add, externally adjustable Fronts on either car = $85 extra for the pair. This allows the use of strong front springs as well. 350lb to 375lb should be ok.
Custom Mounts for GC perch (allow the use of a 10 inch front spring) = $75 per axle. Only needed up front.
So if you have a b13 and you want shorter fronts and standard rears (535+125) and you also want the externally adjustable fronts ($85) plus the custom mounts for the longer spring up front only ($75). This puts you at $820 for my work (plus shipping) and then you provide the GC setup (400 at the most). This setup is far nicer then the TEIN in ride. Plus, you can add the GC camber caster plates which give you another 3/4 inch of travel up front. A lot of people already own this GC stuff so it saves them money. Hope that helps.
Gracias!

I am not taking any orders to do these any longer. I may do them in the future but for now I am done. I have one set that is going out and I am done.
Cost can be found at www.tirerack.com I will sell you the Koni's shipped to your door for the price tirerack uses (they will add shipping, I don't). You can try and save a couple buck but if you buy from me I am inclined to actually help you with your project with appropriate advice.
Money hasn't been discussed in this thread...manily to erase inconsistancies years down the road in price.
I understand your point, however I'm just looking for ballpark numbers. Right now I may have inconsistencies in the Suspension Thread on pricing (see quote in previous post). I suppose I could remove it, but I want folks to have some idea of what a CSK based suspension would run to do it themselves, or to have them done.

Either you have a sh*t-ton of cars, or if someone were so inclined they could PM you on a set of turn-key CSK's?

So with all this talk about koni insert this shock that for the B series, wheres the love for the G, once again the red-headedstep-child of the Nissan/Infiniti realm has no love Just kidding.
Steve, could you give some recomendations on the shock/shock combo for the P11 with various spring rates (I currently run GC 400/380), and the shock/strut combo for the P10 with various rates as well (the P10 runs GC 250/200 IIRC). Im sure the spring rates that others run will vary all over the place, hence the request for the different recomendations. Thanks bud.

Koni only has off the shelf units now for the 99+ G20. I thought I remember them having them for other G20's. It would be easy to measure up the pre 96 fronts to see if the 99 (which shares a very similar front suspension) would fit. I just go to a pick and pull junkyard. Pick it from both, measure both and walk away. The rear of the -96 can use the B13 rear or B14 front if you are using coilovers. I have not measured it for lowering springs.
