Arrgh!!! my Cusco FSTB is busted!

My new bar got tweaked badly in shipping. Does anyone out there have a spare aluminum center adjustment piece and nuts for a Cusco ST type (Adjustable tube type) bar like the ones in the group buys. Mine is DOA. Anyone have one of these eat themselves before and have any luck finding a replacement piece? I called around and the guys at 2 Cusco distributors both said that cusco does not sell parts, only whole bars. A load of crap or the truth? If not has anyone had one of these fabricated for them as a replacement?

Thanks for the help.

Having not seen your bar.....I will assume that......Take the parts to a Fastner Store and they can get you what you need. Hopefully they are not reverse thread parts AND metric. That might be the only tough part.

The Easy Fix....

Replacement sadly, basically it's a hexagonal aluminum bar that is threaded on one side and reverse threaded on the other, those screw into the middle of 2 high strength steel bars that attach to the front struts. I haven't accurately measured it yet but I'd guess that since it's from Japan it's metric. It worked before it was shipped and when I got it it was locked up tight. Box looked like it was supported on both ends with something heavy in the middle (ie folded into a "C"shape lenthwise.) Unscrewing it basically crushed->stripped completly the threads for about 1/4 inch on one side and close to an inch on the other. I could probably cut the damaged threads off but I'm worried about the stability of the bar losing that much attachment...

I'll see if I can get some picks up later....it's not a happy
