in short i took my car to a reputable shop and they didn't do it right. lesson learned if you want it done right, do it yourself.
question: my springs are rattling around in the rear of my car. the fronts are fine but the rears rattle on anything from just minor road vibrations to speed bumps. the people at the shop told me that if i hit really hard bumps they would do that, do to the fact that they are lowering springs and they will do that if the suspension isn't under alot of load. i think there full of sh*t. i haven't gotten a chance to look underneath the car yet but i'm willing to bet they put rubber hose on the top of the spring as well which is keeping it from seating correctly. is there anything else i should be looking at? also i was expecting a much more aggresive stance with this setup is there anyway to get the front of my car a half inch to inch lower than what it is sitting at right now? thanks!
Pete

i was thinking they've been mismatched as well. the springs are marked right? there hyperco gen3's and when i looked at them it says sr20forumF or sr20forumR. my stupid shop called hyperco and they had no clue and then they called me and i told them to throw the ones with F in the front... grrrr i need to get under the car and check this all out i'll report back after i get out of work. thanks guys.
It makes nearly no noise. Occasionally, my fronts make a clunk, low speeds, turning the wheel, hitting major road irregularities. Like a clunk, singular.
Other than that, they behave as regular old springs. No constant noise. Something is definitely wrong with the installation.

You might want to first make sure it isn't your exhaust clanking. That happpened to me and I thought it was my rear suspension.
Assuming it's not exhaust, check out the suspension. It is very easy to remove your rear suspension. Two nuts at the top (in the trunk), two bolts on the bottom. It all comes out intact. Check it out and see if anything is loose.
ok guys i got up underneath this thing. with the suspension not under load i can literally move these srpings around at will. I checked the part numbers on both rear struts 732001 and 732002 so they both check out alright for the rear. The springs themselves say sr20forumR on both the rear ones and the tigher coils are towards the ground. im clueless as to what needs to be fixed here. the springs in the front are coiled nice and tight. and the car sits level when its on the ground. any suggestions? thanks!

Those are likely a set of Hyperco Custom Lowering springs this forum sells. Not sure which version they are. I would just make sure the rear has all the OEM rubber isolators, etc around the springs. That should solve the problem. If not then search for Hyperco and the rattling you are getting.
if u have the time and tools, i'd say take them off and put the tight coils up to reduce unsprung weight. first time i did mine, i heard some cluck when i was bouncing the rear, it was from the top 17mm nut not tightened all the way, and it was bouncing too.
Yeah I was going to say the same thig about the tighter coils being onthe top rather then the bottom. Well said. I have a B14 with hyperco gen 2s paired with AGXs. I never hear the rear clank myself and that is with no isolators at all. However I heard noise coming from the front when I backed into my driveway slowly while turning. It seems that my front ones bind slightly with the top rubber hat when i turn slow and all the way to one side. I spoke to several different knowledgable people about it and they say it wont hurt the car. Just another thought I thought I would share.
Just because the coils are loose when the car has no load means nothing about any noise with the car on the ground. Like I said. Get the oem isolators on the rear springs. Like someone else said, check the top nut to be sure it's tight. Flipping them is not a solution.
so i have hyperos w/agx on my nx and the front sits lower than the rear....rear is like stock height....but front is really low. when pulled them off of a classic with a GA and that car sat level on the ground....but on my nx its diffenrt.....im not sure what GEN springs they are but do they do say sr200112 gen sumthin like that.
how can i tell if the previous owner or, shop put the rear srpings in front or vice versa?
I trusted a shop to put mine together the first time several years ago and they actually put the fronts in the rear and vice versa. The Gen3 fronts will have an "F" and the rears will have an "R" painted on them. The fronts are made from thicker 'wire' than the rears.
Swiss' thought about the exhaust most likely; you might also take a look at Shawn's 'bible' - in there is a pic of one of my fronts with some heater hose used instead of the thin rubber base (isolator is what it's called, Steve?) which quieted mine down. I used new top factory isolators all the way around.

how is it you have the time to
