passenger side of the nx caliper i have seems to be not clamping right when i brake. i can see about 3/4 of the rotor is actually being touched by the brake pad, and the other 1/4, i can still see the slight rust it. i took off the caliper, and the top bolt/pin seems to be kinda hard to push in and out. i put lots of grease and lubed it in and out a few times, and the bolt/pin does go in and out a little smoother, but still not as smooth as the other one. is there any other way i can make it good and smooth again? basically, brake pad is leaning towards the outside of the rotor, and the inside of the rotor isnt getting any pad contact...
i don't think it is the pin itself, i think it might be the rubber seal thingy that might be the problem. actually, i don't even know why it's not smooth? i greased the hell out of it. it might be rusty inside the rubber seal boot thingy...

What kind of grease did you use? Some greases will cause the rubber to expand and pinch the slide bolt. The best fix I've found is to get a seal kit and replace the rubber and use the supplied grease.

I used the high-temp purple stuff last time I changed my brakes, fast forward a year and I had to buy a new set of calipers due to completely stuck pins.
I think white lithium might be a better choice?

Guys this is real simple. They make a grease for brake caliper pins. You can find it with a rebuild kit for the pins or sometimes with the other specialty greases in a small tube. Don't use anything but that grease. Brakes get very hot. Use the product designed for that purpose. It's kinda sad that even after Blair pointed you in the OBVIOUS right direction on post 5 that people are still "Maybe I can use X". God, grab a service manual of some sort and it will have this very basic stuff in it. If you don't know the answer don't tell people to do something that you think "might" work. Get/borrow a freaking service manual.
i had this problem to the point that even after re greasing them and driving the car for about 30 minutes the brakes would seize up again. Call up Greg Vogel and see if he can get the caliper rebuild kits with rubber seals. its not the pin, its the seal. i ended up getting brand new calipers since ive had this problem many times but the rebuild kit should do the job just fine.

the seal for the actual piston? or the seal for the pin?

correct.......why risk useing some cheap ass grease only to find out 40+ miles down the road that your brakes are locked up and glowing red turning your rotors into rock hard chucks of wraped steel.................as me how i know? i had to buy 2 new rotors, pads, and cleaned the piss out of the slider boots then used the correct grease.
use "permatex" "ultra disk brake caliper lube" can be bought in a large tub for multipule uses, or 2 packets alittle larger than ketchup packets for single use. when greasing the slider pins also use a wire brush and clean off the clips the pads slide on (they press on to the TQ member) and put a thin layer of grease on the pad shims to cut down on any squealing.
