AGX shocks w/ what springs?(Poll)

i have been reading through the suspension thread lately and i cant come to a good decision. What springs would be best with AGX shocks? Coilovers or regular springs? I would like to see some agx shocks with different springs/coilovers if anybody has 'em...Any suggestions?

They are both right. They are by majority labled as the springs to have for the b13 chasis. I wanted hypercos, i had one set but the wait on these was greater then i wanted to go through.

This guy here put in alot of time on this thread and constantly is updating it. Give it a good read through to answer any questions you have.

Unless you spend double or 3x for a coilover setup (and none decent are mass produced - make your own), the hypercoils are the ONLY functional choice for the B13. The rest are a VERY distant second. The progressive Hypercoils are a brilliant design by the people who make most of the racing springs in the country. I had the honor to swap a few emails with the engineer who designed these things. There's a group buy NOW for these things. Do it.

Go with the road magnets I was torn between hyperco's and rm's and choose the latter. I've been very happy with my agx rm setup.

If your gonna go Ground control do it right and research "CSK". Otherwise if you want coilovers I"d suggest the Progress setup, but for what you have I"d get Hypercoils. I have some from the 2nd group buy and they are great springs. Totally satisfied with them I also have some AGX's. Once my agx's go I"ll probably step up to the CSK setup.

i chose road magnets because they are very affordable, about 80 bucks cheaper than hyperco's. that 80 bucks could go towards a set of koni bumpstops...

Well this will be a surprise but I have both the Hyperco Gen2 on the 94 and the Road Magnets on the 91 and the 91 has a more solid feel on the road but not by much. Both have KYB AGX adjustables set at the same settings 3F,4R. I too thought that the Hypercoils were the definitive answer to the best spring made for the B13 but the Road Magnets more than hold their own when subjected to the same road tests even though they are linear in design. Yes the spring rates are a bit higher on the RMs but the ride is pretty good, as comfortable as the Hypercos without a doubt. If these RMs are a distant second in this poll that distance has been narrowed considerably IMHO. I wouldn't hesitate to put the RMs on my 94 if given a choice even though the Hypercos are better designed. Just my thoughts.....

Define "best."

Do you have any need whatsoever for height adjustability? Do you auto-cross or road race (track)? Do you like to play around with your suspension?

I do not. Nor do I want to "fiddle" with my suspension on my DD. Therefore I went with a conventional spring and upgraded strut (Hyperco/AGX, no RM's at the time) set-up. Install, get an alignment, and forget it.

That was my deciding factor between a coilover set-up and conventional springs.

I would have to respectfully disagree with you Jer.

We have two (2) "SR20 Forum Exclusive Springs" Hypercoils and Road Magnets. Both are entirely viable performance springs and each have their merits. I outline the differences in the Suspension Thread under that sub-title. Here's a direct link:

http://www.sr20forum.com/driveline-t...ml#post1651579

Then everything after that is a VERY distant third.

Spoken for truth.

There is also a Road Magnet Group Buy. Having choices kicks ass.

There is only one spring rate. You get them as designed.

You will need upgraded struts, either AGX's (very good) or CSK's (excellent). More information is available in the Suspension Thread.

The OP has been reading the Suspension Thread.

I'm very pleased to see a relatively educated discussion and poll. No stupid as hell choices, statements nor questions. B13Magoo already posted the Suspension Thread.

No one spouting off to "slam it on Drop Zones, yo!".

I cannot help but smile.
