I have nothing but praise for them. For being an all-weather crappy, they sure can stick to twisty tarmac roads pretty well. A hell of a lot better than the older ZE-512s. (^_^ )
I agree with you. My problem is I thought I was going to be driving the car in all conditions, but now I know that the car will only be driving in good weather.

I'll probably take them off and get some nice sticky summer tires.

IMHO, these tires don't stack up that well as far as 'feel' goes compared to a summer tire.

I just went through a bearing fiasco that involved me assuming it was my BFG KDW 2s that were making all the noise. I bought the Falkens (and of course, the noise didn't go away, silly me) and it made the car feel completely different. Floaty, etc.

After I got the bearing replaced, I put the old BFGs back on and the car felt much better. I don't drive like crazy--these tires are supposed to last for only 30K and I've got more than that on them with at least 1/3 to 1/2 tread life left.

I didn't take any turns hard with the Falkens on, so I cannot attest to their lateral grip. They were very, very quiet, however (almost eerily quiet), and rode quite well.

I just don't prefer a soft sidewall, and when compared to a high performance summer tire these are quite soft indeed.

I'll put it this way. I used to be able to spin in third from a roll easily with my old 512's. My 912's take alot more boost before they give in. These things hook and wet driving is alot smoother. Haven't tried snow yet.

That's good to know.

I recently mounted 225/50/15 ZE-912s on stock B14 wheels and have yet to notice rubbing. Supposedly the widest tire that will fit. I plan on using these tires when I roll the DET out.

I have these on the rear of my SE-R and Azenis on the front. I need the traction on the front and refused to wear down Azenis on the rear for street driving. I like the 912's just fine; the sidewalls are thick. But they definitely have much less grip than Azenis. I can oversteer with this setup like my car is RWD.

i have 205/50/15s on and they are a great all weather tire...they do not fair well on ice at all(my khumo 732s 185/65/14s were awesome all around)...these are very quiet tires, and will take some very spirited driving through the back roads.....have great wet weather traction too!....not bad in the snow...drove around in the little blizzard we just had here in the cincy/northern kentucky area just fine.
would buy again!

I have these tires, and I don't like them. I had the Ze512 before, and those were a softer compound and gripped better, but they didn't last very long. The Ze912 is a nicer tire for highways and doesn't grip as well. They seem to wear fast too. I will be buying the BFGoodrich Gforce Super Sports next.

For about 3 dollars a tire more, I would rather have the Nitto NeoGen.

A few years ago the 512s were $40 in 15" sizes. Then the 912s were better because they are not uni-directional. The problem is the price has risen and now they are not the bargain they used to be. Still good but no longer "the best $40 tire money can buy" as I used to say.

they are good tires, but one thing i don't like is the 912's cannot be flipped. they have an inside and outside markings on the tire.

????
just wanted to chime in, these tires suck BALLS in any amount of snow (driving on slicks seems like). Im gonna try little tire rotation to see if that helps, maybe more tread on my rears. They are absolutely fantastic in warm weather ***.
FYI-mine are mounted on stock b14 se-r rims.

I bought mines yesterday for 316, sears had a sale of buy 3 get 1 free, they wanted to charge 380 for tires, mount, and balance, fu*k that sh*t I just gave 20 bucks to the tire guy at my work to do it. and right now theres a pretty big storm going through So Cal and they drove great, I felt very confident with them. 195-50-15 on SEL's great street combo in my opinion.

Yep, these tires are about the worst choice you could make for winter weather, even light snow. My car was sliding all over the place with these this winter. Dangerous in snow! These tires should just be called a summer tire. For winter weather =
