What are YOUR Kyb's set at?

Hey guys, I finally, FINALLY, got my suspension installed on my car, thank god.

Basically got the AGX KYBs with Road Magnets, but it kinda blows because I wanted to use the stock boot covers, had to stick with just using the bumpstops that came with the covers. Owell

But my question is, what do you guys think would be the best setting for the front and the back for a 95 b14?

Anyone with personal experience that wants to chime in, please, give me ideas. Thanks!

Another thing, I don't plan on racing my car, I want the smoothest ride possible

mine are set at 4 front and 7 rear. that setting is for max stiffness. i have found if the rears are set to 8 then it doesnt move at all(very harsh). for a smooth ride i would sometimes set them to 3/5. anything under 3 will bottom out on these cars. actually they will bottom out on setting 3 if driving hard. but if the road is retalitly smooth it will be ok. the nice thing about the 4/7 i run now i dont have to slow down for off ramps(fun times)

From: http://www.geocities.com/g_wellwood/...andstruts.html

KYB AGX Damping (this info is for B13s but it ought to be useful)

Front (4 positions)

1- OEM
2- 15% firmer
3 -72% firmer
4 - 123% firmer

Rear - 8 Positions

1- 5% softer
2- OEM
3- 7.5% firmer
4- 15% firmer
5- 43.5% firmer
6- 72% firmer
7- 97.5% firmer
8- 123% firmer

I plan on setting mine to 2 front 4 rear for street use.

i would suggest a 3-5 setting, 2-4 will be to soft depending on your springs and will cause alot of bouncing issues, that will blow your struts out. however KYB doesnt have the highest level of quality control and the damping level is differant for each strut.

also, wrong section.

AGX's w/ RM's.

2/4 settings are too soft, so I upped them to 3/5. Feels better, but still may go up a notch to 3/6.

2 in front, 4 in rear right now. No bounce either. It just depends on what you feal is best to you. I had to play around with the settings to match my daily drive which is ALL highway. City is different. Also, you could have cut the OE bumps off the boots and still used the boots.

We cut down the rear ones to give it more travel, but with the front, if I was going to cut it to use the ES bumpstops I had, it would have been to much. The boot cover itself would have been all over the place.

I know my rears at 4 right now, I dont know exactly what the front is, i think its 4 as well

2-4 1st gen RM springs.

I havent played with the settings yet. In front because the drop is a bit too low I will bottom out if I hit a sudden dip.

On the b14 for daily use:
2 in front and 1 in the rear

On the b14 for drag use:
1 in front and 8 in the rear

On the b14 for aggresive turning:
2 in the front and 7 in the rear

On the b13 for daily use:
2 in front and 4 in the rear

On the b13 for drag use:
1 in front and 8 in the rear

On the b13 for aggresive turning:
2 in the front and 8 in the rear

In the b14 I am using 350/275 spring rates
In the b13 I am using 325/250 spring rates I'm pretty sure.

Most mass produced adjustable twin tubes have large variances in damping. Koni is particularly notorious for having horrible variances on all of their dampers off the shelf (this includes some of their cheaper race dampers, like the 8611).

i've been dd'ing my b14/RM/AGX setup at 2/4 and its quite nice. Not too floaty, not too darty. It will bottom out if you're not careful though.

agx's mated to g/c--1f/2r for that caddy-like ride and 4f/7r at the track--even on the soft settings she handles great on corners..it could be the 325f/250r g/c springs
