BTW, what are your experiences with longevity with them? I expect them to last a while.

the black rubber was intended to keep dirt out from between the housing and the new insert where yours have JB weld showing they are of no use.
the white piece goes around the shaft I can only guess it makes for a smooth surface for the bumpstop to hit so it doesn't get worn, and damaged

Question about this pic from this thread:
http://www.sr20forum.com/driveline-t...formation.html

Why are his bumpstops outside the dustboot? I removed my bumpstops from my dustcovers and I am confused as to why his are outside as opposed to inside?

You know, I can't recall exactly why I did that. I seem to recall some sort of fitment issues with either the front or the rears. I think those were the fronts, which are Koni Yellows. I think with the reds (in the rear) it fit just fine, but with the yellows it didn't. I'll look under my car tomorrow and report back.
Congratz on the purchase, the Konis are simply amazing!

As pointed out the white plastic discs go around the shaft and sit on top of the strut. They help keep dirt and crap out of the vent holes among other purposes. They are mucho importante!

So the rubber goes where the strut and the insert meet or does it sit where the plastic disc sits ? (Where the JB Weld is?)

*BTW, I could ask Steve these questions, but I save the hard ones for him. These questions are for an informative thread.

Also, I am adjusting them now.
I push down on the shaft and turn 1 1/2 turns clockwise. Before I start this, I will turn it all the way counterclockwise to "0"? I wait till I hear it drop into the click (Like a combination lock) and then turn. The rears seem to swoop lock to lock, but the fronts, are they in incriment turns/clicks or do they just swoop around like the rears?

You can see the white piece at the top of the strut housing. The black rubber sleeve is to cover the ugly section where it transitions from the Koni strut to the now cut housing.

Like so...

Those are "hydraulic" twin tube struts. Not high pressure units, so even brand new they don't always push out. I've had some creep out, but most "Reds" stay compressed.

Now if they were a mono-tube and they didn't come out, I'd be concerned...

Good to know. I found that out here too:

And you explained why to me. Thanks. I was wondering how it would come back to stand..
