Just wondering if anyone has these installed on thier cars... heard some bad things about the KYB's, like they wear out pretty quick within a year or so. Also, the koni's have to be removed in the rear to adjust???? just wondering what everyone else thought, or if anyone knows of any others comparable to these. I need adjustables... Hopefully adjustable without removing them... Oh yeah, the springs i'm using are the RS*R Race springs. Thanks for any help.
the agx's are cool as long as you dont go too low and use a mild spring rate. the konis are shorter, work better with stiffer spring rates, but are not externally adjustable. But how often do you need to adjust the rear? I have agx's now, and I just set them to the middle, and Im all good.
just got them put together after having the parts for a while. ive been riding around on blown agx's for like 2 years, but I dont drive the car on a daily basis anymore, i have a work vehicle.
the roads here in san francisco are horrible, much worse than LA. its hard for me to quantify the difference seeing as how i bought the car with the blown agx's.
They seem much stiffer, due to me running 375 lb springs up front, but i wanted performance, not comfort, as the car is no longer my daily driver. but they dont bottom out like my agx's used to, and i can hit some nasty bumps without feeling like im going to break something.
Ive had my AGX's for years on my weekend warrior and have had zero issues and the car gets driven hard as far as cornering is concerned. My springs lowered me about an inch.

the car had 325 GCs up front, but the guy i bought the car from bought the setup used, and had it on there for at least 30k.
I have 375lb 8in springs up front with the koni yellows, and 325lb springs with the agx's in the back, Motivational mounts. Im just waiting for the rears to go.
AGX's might be ok but you would be better off with Konis as they are better. You can use the Spec V yellow inserts in front and rear which have external adjustments. Ground Control makes GC's you can find them here. You can order them in any spring rate you want in increments of 25 pounds.
go read the suspension thread as well. all of this has been discussed in detail with links and all the info you need.

^^^ he has a 240sx, he can't use a specV insert in the rear for sure and I'm sure the SpecV insert doesn't fit up front either, but I could be wrong on this one.

Konis are great but you need to guess which adjustment level (don't got adjustment levels, you need to measure the angle of tightening-loosing) to put prior to assemble.
I put Koni inserts at my X-Trail but they can be adjusted at the top & LOVE 'EM.
I use koni yellows on my nissan primera P11 sedan + GM 2" progresive lowering springs. I adjusted the konis prior, to the very first stiffness level. (i.e: the softest possible because it's a family sedan).
I also have changed the all OEM bushings to polyurethane + I have a 40 kumho tyres profile which is too low for a family sedan, so a soft ride and that's the reason I set the konis to the softest level. The behaviour of the car during hard cornering (speed of excess of 80mph (and when tyres get warm up and the road is grippy / roads here in Greece suck) is very satisfying. What you can notice is a very slight lean opposite the turn and then the progressive spings take over. If I had the konis to the stiffer level I might have less lean though.
I like this sight lean cause the car reacts to the turn and this can feel as a reaction to the tyres. Judging the road is too slick here in Greece, hard cornering can make you lose control of the car if the car doen't warn you, and this lean is this slight warning. I do not know what's the condition of the roads there, but bear in mind that for a street car what you need to do is give your car the chance to warn you for certain things (suspensionwise).
Of course tyres are crucial to the entire suspension system !!!
Hole I helped you
After much consideration, i have decided to just go with the megan racing track coilovers... for about $200 more, i get a good perfomance coilover, pilloball mounts, and i can adjust the ride height and the dampening force... wirth the extra $200 bucks if you ask me
These are the spring specs for the RS*R Race springs i'm using. Who makes the GC's?? Yellow's should be compatable right?
Estimated Front Drop - 35mm(1.4in)
Estimated Rear Drop - 30mm(1.2in)
Front Spring Rate - 5.00kg(279lbs)
Rear Spring Rate - 4.50kg(251lbs)
GC's are ground control coilovers .... i have eibachs there not bad except the rear is ever so slightly lower than front but i still like there comfortable...
