B14: Whiteline LCAB and STB questions.

Guys,
I am hoping to complete my setup this summer--this includes front and rear strut tower bars and (possibly) a LCAB all the way from Australia. My questions are:

How much of noticeable difference does the LCAB make? Last time I checked the price including shipping this piece was hovering around $400, and that's quite a lot. Is it worth $400??

Also, will the strut tower brace from Whiteline for whatever car that our B14s match up to fit over an SR20? I don't know if that particular application crosses over to our cars. And is it stiff? I know that it's hard to find a brace for our cars that works as good as one should and cannot find any pictures on Whiteline's website of this piece to get a general idea of the quality of the bar. If anyone can post pics that would be great.

Thanks in advance.

The LCA brace is a nice mod. I was not aware that the Whiteline bar was $400, that is pretty spendy, but I feel it is a worthwhile mod. that offers a noticable improvement especially on turn in.

Yeah, $400 is alittle pricey. I got mine for $180 from JGY (I know, I took a gamble, but they had it in stock and all at a good price). Poke around some and I am sure you can cut that price in half and be able to get some other cool things as well.

As far as how it felt, pretty damn good. You will feel a much tighter feel in your turns. I got this before I got a FSTB or my beam bent, btw.

Check out the Progress piece. Hangs down less and is really beefy. As for making a difference....I'd say its in my top 3.

1.AGX/Hypercos
2.Progress brace
3.Weight reduction

That is exactly what I was going to say.

I am sure that the Whiteline unit is well-built and works well. They are a well respected company.

However, for that kind of money, check out the Progress unit. Equally well respected, and far more affordable. I *beleive* you will find it even less expensive than the better prices presented by the other guys on the Whiteline unit.

As for the FSTB, check out our Group Buy Section on the Cusco FSTB. Quality unit, very affordable. Again, no issues with Whiteline whatsoever, but make sure that you are not overpaying. I find it hard to beleive that any 2-point off-the-shelf FSTB is better built/stiffer than the Cusco. The Whiteline looks (and should be) about equally good. Therefore, unless the Whiteline is price competitive, I would go with the Cusco.

And.....Rowdy GTI, can I borrow that Whiteline pic for The Suspension Thread?

Go w/ the Progress. I've had one for over a year and I love it...THE best bang4buck piece, IMO. Nice rod end hardware, a real quality piece that fits great. Cheap too.
The Whiteline works great, too, unless you have your car lowered. That thing really hangs down....you will grind it to dust in no time if your roads aren't that swell, and it sucks being stuck on a speedbump at the grocery...

I dunno about the progress lca.
I have had mines for about a year and am slightly dissapointed.
I previously had the stillen brace and was far more impressed. The only downside to any other lca besides the progress is the clearance issues.
Check the forums, I usually see the whiteline lca for sale from time to time.
Paying $400 even if shipping is included is wayyyy to much. Blemcho is another alternative to whiteline.

KSB underbrace with the 1st Gen Stainless clamps - used rubber material between the brace and underbrace
