Modify Rear AGX ? B13 w/Ground Controls

Hello Guys,

Well its been a while since I installed Ground Controls w/ AGX's. So I just purchased new AGX's and of course the rear sleeve does not fit over the strut.

I vaguely remember having to pop that top piece off and on the old AGX I am replacing it is removed.

My questions is, Whats the best way to remove this without damaging the new strut? I have searched all over the forums and cant find my answer so I am posting.

I tried popping it off with a chisel and hammer but this doesnt seem to be working too well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Basically what you can do is use an angle grinder to grind that ring down. Instead of breaking welds and damaging you can use this method and do the masking tape trick. That is what I did. I wish I could have taken pictures but I was so gung ho about finishing the product I forgot to.

Basically I just was really patient and grinded until the sleeve just fit and it came out really snug. I'm actually selling my whole setup right now in the suspension section.

Thanks but does Anyone know the easiest way to pop it off? I already started to pop it off with hammer and chissel so it would be hard to grind now.

You would have to cut the welds to remove the top cap.

You already got the best advice by just simply being patient and grinding the cap down. I did this job a couple months back and I just took the whole strut to the bench grinder and grinder until I got a good clearence.. Good luck!!
