Energy suspension question.........

Ok so I've searched and I havnt came up with any info that was useful. I'm thinking of buying the energy suspension control arm bushing kit but am not sure if it comes with the inner tie rods bushings. If some 1 can let me know I'd appreciate it.

Inner tie rod bushings? Never heard of them. The only bushings on the steering system that I know about are the power steering rack bushings. To answer your question, no the set does not come with tie rod end bushings. Also, be prepared, bushing replacement is not an easy job. I own a shop press and have done both front wheel bearings and control arm bushing replacements. I would say the bushing replacement is harder to do then a bearing.

There are only 2 bushings and a ball joint on the control arm. The tie rods hook to the steering rack, and the knuckle. You shouldn't have to mess with the tie rods when you swap out the control arm bushings.

ur talking about the boot like bushing on the inner tie rod. es doesnt make it. they make the bushings for the rack and the set for your control arms. id also advse you to purchase a new control arm first so you would have a fresh ball joint as well. and you can purchase the es boot for the ball joint. all you do is stick it on top of the old one. its a reinforcement for the delicate oem boot in harsh driving. the same boot you can also reinforce your outer tie rod boot..... but like i said for the inners you might wanna call the es up
Phone 1(949) 361-3935 they might have universals that might fit.check the dimensions befor you call them. hope this work for u ***. hit me up if anything

look here for your ES bushing kit,,, I got the HyperFlex full kit for my car,, and man it's TIGHT..

http://search.stores.ebay.com/Energy...537521QQsofpZ0

look here to get your tie rods, AND control arms,,,, the control arms come with the ball joint already installed ,, makes your work cut in half... unless you just want to purchase a press and spend the time doing it,,,

Yea thanks. I installed them and I like the difference. It feels stiffer and I'm debating whether or not I should get a strut tower and If I do, will an ebay one do the job? I also read that if you have your suspension too stiff ( I believe in the back) you can spin out easier. Has anyone experienced this?

you meant a strut tower bar? ,, I have front and rear bars,, with the ES hyperflex kit,, VERY stiff ,, and I'm sure you can go past the point of no return and spin out,,, I have personally put my Egg into some curves that would make you cringe LOL,,, and I never even felt like it was close to breaking loose.. of course you need good tread at the same time,, everything is a factor when you play around,,, so play safe ,, hehe..

is that what u used to get the metal looking sleeve out? this one:

there looks like a metal ring inside of the control arm. it looks like the bushings will fit fine without that ring in there, but i'm having one heck of a time getting that out. any ideas anybody??

Well how I did it was I left the rubber stuff inside that hole and used a I believe a 20mm socket and a ratchet extension and pressed it through with the press. The only way I can think how to get these out would be to either cut "JUST," the inner ring with a sawzall or a hack saw (making sure not to damage the control arm or you can try to heat it up with a torch and have something that matches up with only the inner ring and tap it out.

humm what i ended up finally doing was taking a 22mm socket and beating it through the hole after i heated it up with a torch. the 21 socket got stuck inside the ring so i had to hit a 19 through to get the 21 out haha. but a 22mm socket fits perfectly on there (cheap ampro sockets from advanced), so if anyone needs to do this..that was the easiest way for me! 22mm socket + a torch and you are golden oh can't forget a huge mother chuckin hammer!

thank u again for the press link!

Here's and oldie, but a goodie:
http://www.se-r.net/suspension/energy_susp.html

Regarding the removal of the inner metal sleaves in the control arms, here's a link to an older post of mine that should solve that issue:
http://www.sr20forum.com/sr20de-tech...tml#post123704
Here's an image of the tool you can make to drive the inner sleave out.

A heavy mallet and a source of heat will make it soooo much easier.

Good Luck,
