Tie rod question need help !!

Ok so i am having problems with my b13 se-r going through outer tie rods and i think I found the problem . I think it's because the car is lowerd and it's caused the tierod not to be straight and level with the steering rack due to it being mounted on the top of the spindle . Now with that being said I can't mount it on the bottom because of the shaft on the tierod being beveld so I was wondering if there is any companies out there that make a heimjoint style tie rod for the b13 so it will mount on the bottom of the spindle keeping it level with the steereing rack and not causing stress and wear on the tie rod . I see they make this style for the s13 and s14 chasis will they fit the
b13 ??? please help me out thanks .

I haven't heard of any co. that make the Heim-Style...I run the big honkin' MOOG tie-rod ends...they have grease fittings and are pretty heavy duty.

I have run the moogs and had to replace both sides within 10k miles I would not recomend them on b13 that are lowerd more than 1 1/2 '' they bind up and throw the rod angle off what I'm looking for is tie rod that mount from the bottom of the spindle tab instead of the top to keep the tie rod level with the steering rack . because when you lower a b13 you cause the tie rod to be angled upwards and it throws the steer angle off . I see thay make them for the s13 and s14 platform I jost need to know if they fit the b13's inner tie rod ?? if anybody notices this problem with thier lowerd b13 let me know mabee we could convince the aftermarket to produce these !!

I know what your talking about; same thing happens on the b14. I was actully looking at my megan racing inner and outer tie rods I just got for my s14 and was wondering the exact same thing you were. I was going to run by the dealership tomorrow and see if they have a stock inner b14 tie rod for me to look at and compare and also see if the outer's compadability as well.

The 240 tir rod is bigger. I think the thread pitch was the same though, just a siz bigger. I even checked the inner tie rods just to see if we could just change out the entire set up, but no luck there either. There has to be some car that has the same size tir rod as use that has a heim style aftermarket alternative...

I have Moogs on mine and am not a big fan. They increased my turning radius significantly. I keep meaning to go back to oem.

As far as your problem goes; This is not a common problem. You ought to try and think outside the box a bit. There may be other factors on your car that lead to worn tie rod ends.
