Steering wheel wobbles under acceleration...help

My steering wheel wobbles back and fourth while acclerating. It only does it if I hit the gas pedal. When the car is just coasting its fine, but if I hit the gas wheather it be from a stop or while driving my steering wheel will wobble back and fourth pretty bad. This has been going on for about a week and half now. At first it just felt like it was hesitating under acceleration and I thought it was a motor problem, but now the steering wheel wobbles.

And what i mean by wobbles, is the steering wheel rocks side to side.

Drivers side axle was recently replaced, so I was thinking it might be my drivers axle? Wheel bearing? BTW its a 92 p10.

take your hands and rub them over the front tires, you should feel a bump, called a belt shift. if so then you need tires, let me know what you find.

Front tires have a good amount of tread. That was my first thought, but they are relatively new tires.

That would be a bad cv axle if it was a tire it would do that all the time. jack up both sides of the car and put it in gear and and look and see if the cv shaft is jumping up and down . then see if there is any twisting play in the joint itself. I have had that problem before caused by the car being to low and bottoming out the cv joint and damaging it ..

Thanks guys. I figured it was my CV joint/axle. I should have just replaced my drivers axle the same time I did my passenger side. Anyways, I got a new axle and it should be installed within the next few days. Ill let you all know the aftermath.

Pulled my driver side axle out and it was pretty shot. Put a new one in today...cant drive it until tomorrow though because I forgot to use a catch can and lost about 2 quarts of tranny fluid haha. Hoping this solved the problem, because all other suspension parts seem to be in good shape.

If that doesn't fix it, I'd look into your alignment. When you replaced the axles you may have changed your toe settings.

Filled it with trans fluid this morning and took her for a spin...drives excellent. Steering wheel doesnt wobble nor does it vibrate, not even a little bit. Plus I took my old axle shaft to my local auto store and they gave me $11 bucks haha.
