Need help! ASAP *OEM Bumptops*

I'm not a track junky or Auto X junky and I don't plan to be. I have the AGX/Hyperco setup in one car and the GR2/Road Magnets on the other. Is it really neccesary to trim the OEM bumpstops?

BTW the OEM bumpstops that I have are the ones completly attached to the dust boot and they are nearly 2.5" .

I cut about an inch off my ground control bumpstops.
To be safe cut them. I had my road magnets for little under a year.
After they settled, the car lowered another half an inch or so. I have not experienced any bottoming out yet.
