Tein Basics for the B14

Hey Guys.

I'm in the market of buying Tein Basics for my B14. Before I empty my wallet, I wanna know from those who have Basics how those coilovers are. Do they make a lot of difference? My car is used for daily driving and occasional track days, and wanna make sure I'm getting a good bang for the buck. Thanx

Also, don't hesitate to give me other suggestions. I'm open to all opinions on what is the best suspension setup for the B14.

K-sport are really good too, but I don't know the differences between the 2.

Basics are good, I've had them, but I suggest you go with the SS just for the sake of adjustability. Basics were pretty bumpy on PA roads, if you have smooth roads where you live then they'll be great.

K sports are bottom of the barrel suspension. I would never use these. I had Basics and they were just fine. I liked how they rode and they handled great as well. I now have the SS's and have actually never really utilized the adjustability as of yet.

My buddy with a donut shop can hook you up. He goes through a deep frying process that gives the pistons a crispy crust , then he either coats them with a low friction glaze, or a lubricatn absorbing powerder. Mmmmmmmmmmm... Pistons

I didn't like the basics. I did not use them much before I sold them and bought csk's. I really like the csk's much better. If ur deadset on teins, take wildmane's advice and buy the SS setup instead.

I agree with the guys here. Spent the extra $ and get the SS's. Espeically if its going to be daily driven. I have the ss's and they are great.

I have the Basics, bought the car with them on it. There Stiff for sure, on rough roads, which there are alot of where i live. The ride is kinda bumpy, plus i have 18s. From what ive read on the SS i would go that route.
The basics, are good to me on the highways, and good flat roads. otherwise there alittle rough

I installed the Basics a couple weeks ago and had them aligned, the ride is a bit stiff but its good feedback and NOT bouncy at all. I have the pillowball mounts so its even stiffer than it would be with stock shock mounts. I have stock SE-R 15's with Falken tires, the car handles great.

tein basics are pretty good, i like mine...just wish they came with a stiffer spring rate or a few to choose from, i ended up buying a few sets of springs from a local race shop
eibach ERS springs
2.5 ID, 10" tall, 500lb, 700lb, and 1100lb
going to mess with placement of the springs-start with 500 up front and 700 in the rear then go to 700 front 1100 rear(this is for drag racing also)

will let you guys know how i make out
can also get many other hights and rates-if any one is interested LMK

you would need to re valve them to compensate for the added spring rates. Otherwise it wont do much good.
