Bump steer kit question (part wear)

I purchased a bump steer kit a little more than a year ago in this thread :
http://www.sr20forum.com/suspension-...-uprights.html

Until my last weekend at VIR everything was in perfect working order. Shortly after my first session I developed a vibration at speed. This worsened with the more miles driven. I checked for wheel play and I have some. I would describe it as toe play and not bearing play. It moved at the 9 and 3 position and not the 12-6 I am wondering if it is the spherical bearings or simply the inner tie rods. Do the bearings wear in such a way that I would feel this play or should I look at other components

If you jack the front end up and wiggle the wheel left to right you should be able to see where the play is...

I would guess inner tie rods or steering rack bushings but if the "vibration" sounds like it is based on speed, I would point at the wheel bearing first.

Hope that helps some...

heims all be it rare will wear out after time. simply undo the heim and check for wear. there should be no side to side play in it and although it should rotate and spin fairly freely there should be some resistance. but i would have to agree with racerx it is probably the inner.
