My attempt at a B13 AGX/RM setup

Since I do not have anything from the oem strut setup, everything had to be ordered.
So now I have a box full of parts. (thanks to Gregv)
Along with the AGX & RM springs I got used.
And now I have to assemble it all.
Once my camera charges, I'll take some photos and begin the assembly.

More to come soon....

my first b13 came with old agx on the front, and stocks on the rear, with ground controls on front and generic coilovers on the rear. when i installed my agx/road magnets, i went to the junk to get all the other pieces, including a set of mint dust boots. just curious, how much did up pay for those other pieces?

Tell me about it!!
This new setup is $$$.

Hopefully I can sell my Ksports after I install these, and get some $ back.

Any updates on this? I just completed the same install but I have some front end noise and was curious if you experienced the same thing. It's when I turn the wheel, leading me to believe the front springs are kinda loose. They are seated at the bottom of the strut but I'm not sure if the upper spring plate is oriented properly. Any input?

Im waiting for time on the lift before I can do this.

But the rears are together, but the angle of the strut in reference to the spring looks odd. But they arent torqued down yet so...

As far as the orientation goes, The triangle has to be pointed outward.

Rear

Start with the rears,
You can see I have the bottom rubber mount on the strut, but I later decided to use rubber hose.
You can see how it goes together:
Top ---> Bottom
  • Nut
  • Washer
  • Top hat
  • Upper mount/perch
  • Upper rubber
  • Spring
  • Rubber boot/dirt shield
  • Lower rubber/hose
  • Strut

See the white dot.....

The white dot; little arrow(triangle) point to the outside.

Note: see where the end of the spring rest on the lower spring perch...

See how the white dot lines up with where the wheel hub mounts....

Size of hose I used.

Front

Fronts:
Top ---> Bottom
  • Nut
  • Washer
  • Top hat
  • Stud plate
  • Bearing
  • Upper spring perch
  • Upper spring rubber
  • Dust boot/bump stop
  • Spring
  • Lower spring rubber/hose
  • Strut

The nuts right now are just handtight.
Once I have them on the car, and make sure everything is still aligned, I will torque them.

Excellent writeup so far, I'm taking apart my fronts and redoing them as we speak. Greased up the torrington bearing and reassembling. I'll keep you posted on any updates on front end noise, as I'm doing the same setup you are.

Im trying to time it just right, so after I install them, I can take it straight to the alignment shop.

The last time I drove when alignment was off, it cost me two front tires.(tires had less than 1000 miles on them)

What will not having the seat thrust cause? The one I had cracked when I took off my stocks. Also it looks like I need to double check my alignment for the top hats.
