KYB/GC correct setup?

I acquired a set of KYB AGX's and Ground Controls with my recent car purchase, and threw them on the car Friday night so that I could run the local track day the next morning. Feels good, however I am using the stock top hats and it's clunking a bit in the back. I know this is not the proper way to run these things, but wanted them on for the track day ASAP.

My question is: What is the correct way to install these things? (ditch stock top hats, etc.) I did quite a bit of searching, and didn't get much info. Thanks!

I didn't take any pictures before I put them in. I know everything is in the right order and have probably narrowed my clunking down to the trunklid moving around. (missing the rubber bumpers) I'm thinking some aftermarket tophats would be nice.

I myself Have the KYBAGX/GC set up for my B13 and a while back purchased the shigspeed rear upper pillow ball mounts- designed to work with coilover set ups. Also it eliminates most of the noise to. On an old school NPM article it also gave a rundown of how to set up the ground control/KYBAGX set to prevent noisey clunking and coilover noises by way of the duct tape and silcone method- they did it on a B14, will work on a B13 too-do you have a B15? Im sure it will work for it as well- concepts are the same-im sure theres a tutorial of it around here if you run a search. Might wanna run through the set up throughly and check into that. If its the trunk- like you said might be the little rubber bumper stops or run a sheet of trunk dynomat to quiet it down- just some suggestions- hope this helps! Keep us possted!

Thanks for the tips. Looked up ShigSpeed on google and most of the stuff there is a few years old. Does he still produce those mounts?

Edit: I did have a B15, my brother is driving it now. (its a 2000 SE)

Bump for answers. Looking to replace the factory top hats and need opinions. Its either this, or I sell the setup and buy new struts/springs for use with the stock hats.

I will be ditching the GC setup and replacing them with RM springs. GC's will be available for sale shortly.
