Axle problems

I need help. I installed two brand new axles in my 200sx and it has not been five months and both are gone. Has anybody gone through the same problem or does antbody know why or what might be causing this. Thanx

Maybe you got bad trans bearing or wheel bearing or something is loose or not in all the way. The axles could be cheap/junky. I would check everything and throw some good oem axles in.

Yes oem is the best. I used some from O'rille auto parts /checkers. Idk what you got in Cal. I just made sure they both had the counter weights in like the factory. A lot of people say that the cheap ones you get with out them cause issues. There is a company called Raxle that make axles and I heard they are really good as well. What are your axles doing the make em bad? clicking? shaking? busted cv? I have replace almost all the sh*t in my front end with new stuff and the shaking still there and finally figured out it was a bad rack and pinion. Something to check as well. When you installed the new axles did you make sure your LSD in the transmission was aligned so the driver side axle went in all the way? Also that all the bolts to the hub were tight and the 3 bolt for the pass. side axle mount?

well i replaced the axles and not even a block away the car started shaking bad. It shakes in the begining of second gear. Cv boot is also torn up. I replaced all my seals, ball joints, tie rods, bearings and also did an alignment and no good results. I;m so frustrated. Dont want to buy new axles and the crap is going to break again.

When you replaced your axles did you size them up to make sure that they were the same length? I have ended up with axles from parts places that were not the correct length before. Definitely something that can cause a real quick problem such as failure only a block away.

I assume you made sure the axle "clicked" fit all the way into the trans and all was good there.

I had a very similar problem. On my passenge side shaft, every new cv shaft I put in, the center support bearing would blow apart after about 5 miles. O'Reilys was the only place in town that could even order them. It was like the bearings weren't even greased. They were sealed, so I couldn't check or grease them myself if I wanted to. Finally found a small foreign performance shop that could order ANY oem nissan part at a discount price.

I replaced the upper strut mount too with all that stuff and It still shakes now. I got a new rack and pinion which I am putting in to hopefully fix it so I would check that as well. If you aftermarket wheels they may need hub centric rings for it to get rid of slop. I have a buddy that owns a suspention shop and these are the thing we have gone through. I have replace almost everything in the front. It can be lots of things.
