abnormal front inner tire wear

i just got new front tires about four months ago, and the inner edges are already showing the metal banding in the tire.

i've heard it could be the ball joints which according to my haynes manual, suggests buying all new control arms to replace the ball joints. has anybody else had this problem, and what else would cause the inner tire wear?

bad alignment due to:

balljoints
bushings
struts
bearings

or simply bad alignment....

the easiest way to go is getting to the shop and get a quote... then just put in anything wrong and go to alignment shop.

My guess is too much toe out.Is the wear smooth all the way around the inside of the tire?If it is,that's my guess. If it's sort of bumpy and worn,I'd go with worn out ball joints and/or tie rod ends.I generally run 3.2 degrees negative camber, and 0 toe.I've never had a wear issue.Find a shop that will set your alignment to EXACTLY what you want, not just "within specs".
