Potenza RE11 on b13 sentra

looking to buy a new set of tires this week, thinking about either re-11 or re001 price wise only $15 more for re11 ($117usd ) , anyone had any experience with them?
For daily driving, and corner fun.

might get 25000-30,000km if i'm careful? or maybe to optimistic lol

i have them on my B13, they are amazing tires, most tires with this much grip on dry pavement won't do very well in wet weather, but these are pretty fair with puddles and such.. they don't have a tendency to pull hard or hydroplane like many directional tires with this much grip will pull..

however, they don't seem to last long.. but really, who cares? they have monumental amounts of grip..

and in New Zealand, you're "winter" is coming to an end, and Spring is just around the corner... right??

buy a set!!! i love mine.... i had them on the track at the 2010 Convention, they were definitely not my weak link....

Cheers vqman, I presume you had the Re-11's?

seem like a considerably better tire than the re001 for the money,

dont last too long? what kind of mileage did you get from them,

Im only running a ga16de , and no track use, car seems to be very good with tire longivity.

i still have them. I have just noticed they are wearing faster than most tires. My SR20 is n/a so it's not as though I'm pushing a lot of power to them. I'm expecting to get 20,000 miles at most from them. But to me, the amount of grip they offer, it's worth it..

Just fitted a set of the RE11 's today, 195/50/15 they seem to be wider? than any other 195 i've had before , but fit nicely,
raining all day today so no chance to push em or let alone scrub em in ,
but ride comfort and steering response show alot of promise

as long as you're not trying to go through standing water and just wet/damp ground they do pretty good once broken in on wet pavement...

You're going to like em.

Yep as you say, ridiculous amount of grip!!!! haven't been able to loose traction in the dry yet, as you say wet grip very respectable too !!!

can see why people say they are overkill for the street, may change out the rears with something a bit harder to get a bit more oversteer.... lol

1000km on them not much sign of wear ...yet....

well about 12,000km and a track day and the potenza's are holding up remarkably well,

about 40%-50% wear at fronts so time to rotate, rears still look excellent 80% wear.

preformed pretty well at the track started to move around abit after 6-7 hot laps though. fast track with lots of grip known to be hard on tires and brakes,

was running 27psi cold front and rear.

Re11s for the win. I ran these on Thanksgiving weekend in a NASA sanctioned road racing event and they had massive amounts of grip. In the hairpins, twisties and the carousel I could keep up with much faster cars in my fully bolted S4 DE with a Calum RT. Can't say enough about these tires, currently run 205/45/16s and on the street these tires are overachievers. Tire wear is more than usual but with a 180 tread wear rating that's to be expected with spirited driving. Well worth it, would and will buy these again for future track events next year and the daily drive.

Out of curiosity did you check your tire temps/pressures when hot?

I've heard this tires preform better with higher pressures than most.

Im wondering if I was running mine too low for the track.

Don't run them too low. I have mine at minimum 32 rear, 35 front psi cold on the street but will run 35 psi on all 4 tires on the track cold.

cheers blusteelsr will try that next time, was running at 28 because everyone I know seems to run their dot slicks about that or lower 26psi cold.

but I guess the construction of these re11's are different, might explain why I was getting so much four wheel sliding after only 6-7 laps, maybe working them too hard getting them too hot with low pressure?

seems to be a bit of an art matching tire temps to pressures for individual cars,
I assume you were running your re-11's on a b13/n14 chassis?

you may have saved me a lot of trial and error, cheers will let you know how I go next track day.
