Tein vs. CSK

I have a 1995 200sx se-r and i am looking to replace my suspension. I don't plan on taking it on the track much, but I do look to autocross it a tad. I wouldn't like to lower it very much, so slamming it isnt an issue. I have been reading all of the tech articles and it seems that the Tein basic dampers and the csk's would be the best options. any suggestions???

CSKs will be a great option for conventional springs, but I think you should try to find a set of Hypercos or Roadmagnets instead of tein for the B14.
Check this thread out.It will help you immensely when making a decision on your suspension modifications.

yea. i have read through that a number of times. I live in Ohio with crappy roads and i dont want the ride to be harsh (more of a concern with the teins) but i just don't know what would be good for such crappy conditions.

Depending on how rough your roads are, Tein lowering springs (low rates, more than 1" drop) may make ride quality worse even with an extra inch of travel. Hyperco Gen-II's are actually pretty comfy. If anything you should stay away from thick sway bars, as they will tend to make the ride much harsher over uneven surfaces.

I have had both RM and hypercos on my NX/B13s .
Both were on agxs.Currently running the RMs
The RM are definately stiffer. You can feel the difference immediatly.
The Hypercos are much more comfy over the smaller bumps and for daily driving, but they still work great when pushed due to the progressive rate.
I actually wish I could trade my Roadmagnet setup for a Hyperco setup for my daily.

Another option would be to get some B13 front springs for your car to just lower the front a little, leaving the rear at factory height. The B14 looks higher in the front normally,so that would level it out a little.
You may want to look into that option.

So, are you talking about Tein coilovers or conventional Tein springs? The springs lower the car to much. The coilovers are a different story.

Im talking about the tein basic dampers or the super streets if i can find a good price on them. Thanks eggman, that helps. The progressive rate would be better for ohio roads lol
