b14 200sx yakima roof rack

Hey guys/gals,
The wife and I are getting into kayaking and wanting to get a yakima rack set up for my 96 200sx. I'm a little confused as to how the q23 (according to the yakima site my car needs q23 mounts) mounts mount on our cars? The one's I have seen before mount inside the door channels but with our cars being 2 doors how do they mount? Thanks for the input guys. Any close up pics of a rack on a 200sx would be GREATLY appreciated too!

I had a Thule rack on my B13 Thule uses what they call a short roof adapter. The rear feet just sit on the roof and all 4 mounts are inside the door area. Hard to explain, but the front feet connect to the rain channel inside the door. Then the adapter connects to the front and rear feet and puts what would be the rear clips in the middle. You can still lift the rear feet up a little, but the clips in the middle put tension on the rear feet and that keeps them on the roof. I would put something on the paint to keep the rubber feet from damaging the paint. I didn't and it left marks.

Thanks so much Eric, this is exactly what I needed to know! I guess the Yakima kit comes with the rear feet? I didn't see anything specific about the rear feet when I looked up my application on the yakima website? Thanks dude, you rock!

I know some people don't use the adapter, and at least with bikes, you run the risk of bending the bike trays. If you look on Yakima's website under rack systems, they call it the Q stretch: http://www.yakima.com/shop/racksystems/naked-roof
