Cam Question

i was wondering what cams would be best for my car. i have a 91 se-r with a jdm sr20. headers full exhaust, pop charger, advanced timing, and am going to have an ignition - plugs, wires, coil, and all that good stuff. let me know what would be the best choice. thanks

i'd say s4's... i have them and i love them, you get really nice power but its in the higher rpm range

you might have to raise the idle though.. it will bog down at idle

now that i think about it, i think i might want the s3's. on the track, i would rather have the low end torque. my car already spins the tire sometimes up high iin first and second gear. im not 100% sure yet. so keep the input and advice coming. let me know. thanks

Sorry to dig up an oldie, but has anyone with S3s (with IHE, ecu upgrade on a highport) upgraded to S4s and felt a difference? I have a buddy who's contemplating stepping up to S4s, but the extra $500 to step up a couple of whp seems worthless... what do you guys think?

Yeah... that's my understanding, but seems they both put down the same/similar peak #s, but on the S4s, the power comes in later (higher rpms). So if you're staying all motor, shouldn't make a big diff to step up... I'm wondering if it's worth the trouble.

I personally think its not even close, our cars already have a nice midrange. The thing we lack is topend s4's all the way. Plus you get that nice lopey sound
