Is there another Nissan vehicle that uses the same fog lights as the B13 SER? If not is there an alternative that looks very similar to the factory originals that could be wired up to the existing switch ?
I'm using Catz MSX.
And yes, my bumper is cracked. But I recently acquired a Stillen cover so everything will be alright!

if you want them to look original, i would just buy some new ones from nissan. they are only like $33 brand new from the dealer. i justsay that because i love the look of the oem ones.

for a bit over a hunnert bux - but methinks those are the standard lenses, which near as I can tell don't throw all that good a beam.
I've been pondering Hella's FF75 - which look a lot like Happynole's lamps. I'd do PIAAs if I could afford them. Mine are fine - I just like to see at night, and the stock fogs don't help much. Like all things, one can do something for looks, and/or one can do something for performance.

My lenses are all cracked and breaking apart. The local dealers here want 140.00 each for the fog lights each, and thats a bit much. If the pathfinder fog lights are the same then I can get those aftermarket for about 30.00 each.

$140 seem extremly high. I would stay stock though. Going aftermarket always makes the car look like an SE trying to be an SE-R. I would shop around more, Ive bought lenses for around $40 each from my dealer.

Remind me, kd, given your sig, to stay on your side of the alley. :-) That being said, while I understand the reasoning to keeping the car looking original (the only thing you can see on mine is the oz wheels and the 3" hole in back for the VE), I've not been impressed with the light pattern of the old lenses. One could put high output lamps in them and get more light, but the dispersion doesn't seem very accurate. 'Tis why I'd suggest looking at something like the FF75's from Hella, and if it's pocket change to someone, some PIAAs, but those things are bloody expensive. May look like an SE trying to be an SE-R, understand the issue, but I'd rather SEE. (I'll letcha know if they're as good as they say they are when I do it; gotsta pay fer Xmas first)

Jerry - are you looking for fog (wide beam) or driving (long beam) lights? I have a set of the same type as is on my car in a driving light pattern sitting on a shelf. I ordered them for a friend when I ordered mine, but it turned out he had no money. I'll try and take a picture today, they are still in the factory box.
I forget you guys are actually using the fog lights for fog.. I just use fog lights to look cool... I dont even remember the last time I was in thick fog
At night on back roads with no paint on the boundary, esp. in the rain. Ditches are hard on the bodywork :-). Grayson, if you used the light and you drove the difference between the cheap import lights and the good ones, you'd have complaints. It's in the lens and reflector science. Generally, with some variance, you pay what you get for. Having driven both Hellas and PIAAs, PIAAs aren't three times as good as Hellas. But either are far better than most of the offbrand stuff I've tried to drive with. It's not the AMOUNT of light - generally, a 55w bulb is a 55w bulb. It's in how the light is defined and spread.

I have the courtesy upgrade kit and the power of the bulbs is quite a bit better than stock. On backroads I turn on my brights and the fogs , I can see far and wide, which I really like. There is a noticable difference between not having the fogs on and having them on now, which wasn't true for my stock bulbs. PIAAs I am sure give more width and coverage, but I don't think the extra cost would be worth it to me.

Glad to hear the lamp upgrade was worth it. I did hotter lamps in the stock plastic ('93) headlights (but not HOT hot, as I worry about trashing the plastic lamps); it's made a HUGE difference. And yup, PIAAs are worth it only for the 'Porsche as pocket change' crowd :-). The PIAAs and Hellas will use the same bulb, take the available light and 'dispense' it more accurately - in fog that means less glare off the fog, at night it means more light down where you want it. That being said, the trade is you get the "SE trying to be an SE-R" problem kd rightly mentioned above.

Agreed 100%!!! Once I get my classic back on the road, try mine with the Catz MSX. Not nearly as expensive as the PIAA's, but outstanding beam pattern and light output. I drove from Stockbridge to Athens for over a year, mostly driving home after 10 pm. Saved my rearend several times.
