15" Kosei K1

Do Kosei K1's need to be bored out to fit our hubs?

If the wheels you are wanting to buy have a center bore less than 59.1mm then yes you do.

I ordered a set of 15x7 +33 K1s from the tire rack last night. I used a 1st gen miata as the car and they list both a +33 and +38 offest under that application. I hope they aren't 54.1 centerbore but I'll find out when I get them I guess.

The Tire Rack is really picky about cars/sizes. When I called the first time and told them i had a 91 SE-R they only said they carried a +38, even when I asked if they had a +33 they said no.

I'm getting them from a friend I know for a fact they have the little hubcentric rings in them. From what it looks like they might fit.I was just curious what some people that had them already had to say. Thanks for the help.

If they have a hubcentric ring, then there is a very strong chance they will fit without issue. Make sure to toss the hubcentric rings before you throw the wheels on

After prying some info from a Tire Rack rep it looks like my +33s will need to pay a visit to the machine shop. Oh well I guess it will be nice to have a perfect 59.1 centerbore after they are done

Really?...I would have thought they all have the same bore and then just use different rings for each application. I would try them first before taking them to a shop. Tirerack reps tend to be somewhat limited in their knowledge of things sometimes.

Hank I asked over at the GRM forum and a guy from Flyin Miata called "his" Tire Rack rep and confirmed that they are Spec Miata specific 54.1 just like the Kazera wheels.

The +33 also weigh 14.4# compared to the 13.25# for the +38. Maybe they are cast a little stronger also? Oh well no bigie on the machining. It might actually be nice having them fit the hubs perfectly.

Matt, with the lower offsets come more material in the hub area of the wheel... that's where the extra weight comes from. Being hubcentric on my team dynamics wheels is very nice

I've got 15" K1's with hubcentric rings on them. Make sure the rings are the "high temp" rings. The 1st set melted on me at a track day in Pocono! Then again, that was also with stock brakes!
I call The Tire Rack and the sent me a set of high temp rings - problem solved.
