Broke my wipers!

So this morning I decide to take my car out after the huge storm we just had. I turn on the wipers like an idiot thinking the defroster melted the ice and I heard the wipers struggle and hear a pop. I didn't think anything of it and turned them off. Clear off the ice and finally after you can see the ice is really melted I turn on the wipers to clear off excess snow/water and nothing. I hear the wiper motor going but the wipers are not moving. Has this happend to anyone. I am getting pretty pissed with this right now.

There is a rod under the plastic vents on the bottom of the windshield where the wiper base is that probably broke. The rod is on the passenger side of the car and connects to the wiper motor. I bought my first classic and that rod was broke, so you could hear the motor turn and the wipers wouldn't move. Anyways, I paid like $12 from the dealer and problem was solved. Good Luck

Ahh great.

Thanks for the quick response, I appreciate it. My buddy still has his 93 SE-R so maybe I could go yank it off of his car before we send it to the crusher.

You might want to just buy a new one. As old as the 93 is, you may break it taking off the car.

I haven't been on that piece yet; if it's plastic, get Greg V to send you a new one. But whatever else you do, gut the friend's SE-R and keep the pieces somewhere. They're getting scarce.

Yeah I have got as much as I could from the car that he didn't want to keep. They are dropping like flies. Such a shame. I'm sure the XE to SE-R conversion will become popular soon enough at this rate.
