Another Loud Vibration

my 91 b13 is now making a loud vibration noise....when i start going getting speed, the rumble starts getting louder and louder... it sounds like my lifted S-10 like if my b13 has Super Swampers...

i just changed the front cv axles for some new ones, i thought it was passenger side center support bearing on the axle, and turns out that its not... now that the axles are replaced alittle of the rumble stopped and now sounds if i have super swampers....i put on my stock se-r wheels and vibration and rumble is there still..

when im at 70mph the rumble is loud, but my steering wheel doesnt vibrate its just the damn noise and rumble thats buggn' me.....that super swamper sound......

i dont thinks its the bearings *** they are tight, theres no play on the front wheels...

any ideas on what it could be????

Ball Joints would be my guess. When you're driving swerve to the left then right. If it goes away when swerving, its the ball joint of the opposite side you are turning. But you should replace them all

Thats funny. Sounds like a total wheel bearing issue. Maybe the noise is coming from the rear? Either way, sounds like one of the bearings are not in the best of shape.

yea i was thinking the same thing... im trying to find some info on how to change them.. but it seems nobody has posted "a how to do" thread on the bearings...

if u know what i need, that would be great *** im heading back to school on sunday which is 3 hour drive, and i dont want to drive it like that....

how difficult is it to change them... i dont think they are as easy like my 71 chevy 4x4.

Things you need for bearings, I haven't done them on my sentra but I've done them on several fwd cars, mostly nissans:

big fing hammer to knock the cv axle out, use a wood block if you don't have a plastic one

hand tools (wrenches and stuff duh...)

Snap ring pliers, you can also get a cheap screwdriver and grind a notch in it.

A press. You probably don't have one. I don't really know a ghetto way of getting around this.

You also might need a die grinder if the bearing is frozen to the hub. In my experience this is 90 percent of the time.

I went and change the whole hub assembly on my car. Once you get the axle out, most bad bearing tend to come apart and when you pull on the hub to separate it from the axle you could *sometimes* see the bearing just come apart. I think your best bet would be removing the whole hub and sending to a shop to have them press it in for you.

Shouldn't cost too much bro. You got the time consuming part done. Its just a matter of them spending a little time installing the new bearing for you.

I just had mine done. Most local tire shops will do press out/ press in for 20-30 bucks a hub. If you go to a franchise like Les Schwab or something it will be more $
