CV/AXLE????

dont know if this question should be here or the tech section but oh well..........

got a noise guys.....it happens while turning the wheel. sounds like a wheel bearing when just slightly bending with the curves of the road,,, but when cutting the wheel all the way as to go in circles and listen for clicking....it makes a horrible squeaking noise.....like the opening of a ungreased door only with the rotations of the wheel....? i've never heard a cv/axle that needed replacing that didnt make a clicking noise, but everything is pointing to that. the noise baffles me, sounds like the front end is seriously damaged....the noise is loud!!!

any ideas?

I know it may be a long shot but I'm just taking a wild guess by your description. Could it possibly be your brakes? I know my driver side brake is squeeking like crazy when making a slight left turn and being turned all the way. Just a possibility. Do you notice any vibration or anything?

minor vibration....maybe squeaking was the wrong word to describe....more like groaning!!! or even moaning...........
