B13 SUSPENSION HELP

I am looking for a suspension for my b13. I tried the lower spring for a while but did'nt like it. I have the ground control coilover now but they make a lot of squeaking noise. I can't stand squeaking and rattle noise while i am driving. My friend has the ksport on his b13 but i don't like it. His car ride too stiff and hard. What suspension can i go with to get a decent ride.
help please

What struts do you have your GC mounted?

The squeek is a combination of the top hat and GC sleeve moving because it's mounted on an uneven mounting flange. Just imagine if you were holding a 200 lb box and one leg was up 6" higher than the other. It causes it to move a little bit.

Sigh.

Here, this will tell you what a "hyperco" is:

http://www.sr20forum.com/new-members...rker-crew.html

The first thread I posted would have answered your questions. All of them, including that last one. And the second thread posted will lead you to the Technical Library in post #6.

Why don't you help yourself, read the threads provided to you, and then start asking question on anything that is unclear?

Best of luck.

You will get a host of opinions on here by people who have done one setup and will call that the best. Shawn has done MONTHS of work to put the suspension thread together; it is likely the best one stop shop for a B13 suspension class anywhere. Study that for a while, then c'mon back and the bunch of us can discuss details. Steve is likely the best suspension guy here, he also makes (used to make??) arguably the best coilover setup available anywhere. But if he still does 'em they're in his spare time: line forms to the rear. :-)

Shucks, Jerry. Thanks for the props, I think some folks believe that thread just fell together randomly all by itself.

I have never seen it put in writing so thoughtfully,
B132.0 I was in your position several months ago, when the guys say to research you should listen, you will learn something and be able to ask more intelligent questions when you need them.
The veterans DO know a huge amount of info, but it is also all posted in the threads. I had to learn, opinions are for individuals to decide apon and they will be all diffrent.
Here is an option: adjustment is a nice option on a suspension.

there is no coilover worth getting other than progress coilovers......these retail for $1.2k

if your budget is $800 dont settle for anything but roadmagnets or hyperco's paired with AGX's of CSK shocks. ABSOLUTLY EVERY OTHER SUSPENSION SETUP IS NOT WORTH THE TIME OR MONEY

this is "classicaddict" by the way

Pathfinder is pointing you in a very good direction.

That is how to make your own CSK's. I also have that thread linked in The Suspension Thread (hehehe).

Thee best struts for our cars. If you can afford the CSK's, that is the way to go.

B132.0, you are in a fortunate position. There is a Group Buy on both Road Magnets and Hyperco's right now. How lucky is that?

You could pair up either set of springs with a set of CSK's or AGX's and you would have a kick-ass, comfortable, quiet, performance suspension.

If you can $wing it, this is from The Suspension Thread:

Pair that with a 300-325# 10 inch front spring, GC Camber Plate. Set the rideheight to and 1.5 or so below stock That leaves you with stock levels of suspension travel. I would stack it up against anything anyone else makes in the 1200 price range.
That dude ^^^ is Steve. He has considerable expertise concerning our suspensions.

Notice the CSK (Custom Shortened Koni) utilized with a GC coil-over system. This set-up would fit your criteria, not sure on your budget.

Those are the options that I would point you at with your budget and performance expectations. You will have to research the current pricing, and figure out if you can do your own work on the CSK's, read up on those options (they're all covered in depth), look at the Group Buy prices, etc.....

Whatever you do, do it right this time. Do not let your budget be so set in stone that you make compromises. Save some more cash if necessary.

Best of luck to you.

Wow....What you think GC "coil-overs" are? I peronally dont have the money right now to by progress coilovers but with time I will. I did go against what the ppl on the forum said about Progress springs and GR-2's. I got them, love them, and yes I bottom out "sometimes". I know you all are gonna tell me I have a bad set-up. But w/e I didnt have the money for coilovers and I was getting tired of my B13 monster trucking. Springs = $130 Shocks = $220 Total= $350 and a smile on my face. Just remember you get what you paid for. That is true.

Jerrry, you were 100% correct.

Here is the Progress information:

You have 1.3" of suspension travel before you bottom out in a B13 outfitted with Progress springs.
