Carbon hood from raceonusa

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Carbo...spagenameZWD1V

Hi, I want to buy a new carbon hood but I know nothing about hoods. I want to shed some weight and improve looks as well. Some hoods use pins, and some don't (like the hood in my link) but I don't know which one is better? what is the significance of pins?

I have a Raceonusa hood. I don't have pins...but i probably should. It is very light and looks beautiful..even on a black car.

I just ordered one from deft racing... http://www.deftracing.com/carbon_fib...d_mainlist.htm

price is right. we'll see how it looks/works/lasts after....

...I will use stock latch and add hood pins. Then maybe delete stock latch.

I thought that Raceonusa lays carbon directly on the stock hoods , but since it is lighter than stock, they do something else.

It has Nissan OEM metal frame, right? Or is it all carbon fiber?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe its a fiberglass frame with carbon fiber layed on top. Most CF hoods are not 100% CF.

Pins are extra insurance. With fiberglass/CF as brittle as it is, the metal latch that comes with the hoods just wouldn't feel safe. Like I mentioned before, get some hoodpins for extra insurance. Who knows when that latch might fly off?

I'd wanna get one, but do any of these CF hood makers add holes for the windshield washers??? That's my major concern.
