Mount the struts back on the car, bolt the tires back on, drop the car, use impact wrench, take the strut nut all the way out, then hand tighten. Reverse proceedure, use spring tool to compress....replace springs...add new struts...

Impact wrench is not necessary. Compress your spring, wrap a piece of cloth around chrome rod and hold it with big pliers or wrench with your leg against the floor while strut lays horizontally. Then put a socket on the nut and use one hand to hold the handle and use the other hand to hammer the handle in counterclockwise direction. W40 will make your job even easier...

^^He said his nuts are rusted, your method is somewhat unsafe and puts the family jewels in harms way...

By the way don't put springs lower than 1.2" on stock struts. Anything lower will make your stock suspension either bottom out or bounce. This is about the lowest, safe drop on stock struts.

Use an open ended wrench to turn the bolt (use the open side not the closed side) and hold the middle thingy that sticks up in the middle of the bolt with either another wrench or a mexican quickie-wrench (crescent)
