XE brake upgrade question??!!

OK boys so I wanna start uppin the brakes on my car. Has the flimsy front brakes and drums in back.

Thinkin AD22VF up front with the NX2000 MC....BUT will the proportioning be alright still with the XE's proportioning valves and the drums in back?? i.e. will it be less driveable or have greater stopping distance with that setup?

I would like to eventually put better brakes in the back, too, but one thing at a time.

Any other suggestions? I don;t want to touch the proportioning valves on the firewall if possible, and I could put a different MC if that would be better for this setup and future rear upgrades.

the car is streeted for now with hopes for some autoX or a little solo lapping at some point.

Thanks.
D

From all that I have read on this forum in order to upgrade the brakes on my XE, your current master cylinder will be fine for now. You will change it should you upgrade your rear's from drum to disc.

I am running the stock xe fronts with with my stock MC and the se-r rear disc conversion out back. No problem here, however when I upgrade the fronts, the MC will be upgraded too.

Drum brakes blow. Changing them to discs blow harder. I had a bitch of a time with corroded bolts.
