just bought another se-r

well folks .some of you that know me know my p10 with the gti-r motor. i always liked the se-r classic so i decided to pick one up for a daily driver.i bought it from se rj . cool guy and help me with getting it home aswell.
so natrually any car thats 15 years old needs few little things here and there. im gonna fix them up to my liking.only thing i have to pay immediate attention to is the driver doors sags alot and its damaging the striker so i am afried its going to break off as it is loose already.basically i was wondering what i have to do to fix this right away.new hinges? if so ill go to the dealer and order them in the morning.or any other fix please let me know. thanks

yep new hinges. have someone give you a hand cause the door is suprisingly heavy for one person.

Yes, the door is heavy. If you can't get help (or even if you can) the scissor jack works well for moving the door vertically in a controlled fashion as you install the hinge. You can put a rag between the jack and door to keep from scratching it.

do i have to change the whole hinge complete bot haves one bolted to the a piller and the other bolted to the door?at the dealer you have to be on piont so thats i ask i i dont mention it they dont give it to ya.definitly have to take the fender off i noticed

there are two hinges buy them both; they do not come apart. Each hinge is one piece.

When you have some time to order parts, you will want to find a discount source that works for you. $50 for a hinge seems a bit rich.

There are also specific instructions on this Forum about how to change out the hinge. You might want to check out the Technical Library or just search on "door hinge replace" and see what you can find. This is a commonly done job. Chances are that your heater fan doesn't have all it's speeds, either. That's another common and easily fixed problem.
