Tire size for 16 wheels. Don't put anything else!

Some of you lead me down a dark path, 205/45/16 tires are too big for b13, the car handles and accelerates A LOT worse than even with stock wheels. The best tires for 16'' rims are 205/40/16 (for 6.5-8'' rims) and 195/45/16 (for 16x6'' rims). I learned it the hard way by wasting my money and time in a tire shop...

You've got a lot of nerve... considering that you altered your suspension so it rides like a dump truck. There is no "best" size, its all subjective. You asked for opinions and you got them.

The only advantage of 205/45/16 tires is that they close fender gap better. BUT for the sake of perfomance I would take 205/40/16 and underinflate them to make them ride softer.

Now you have to memorize the following:

205/40/16 IS THE BEST SIZE.
205/40/16 IS THE BEST SIZE.
205/40/16 IS THE BEST SIZE.
205/40/16 IS THE BEST SIZE.

the 45's would be safer for your rims, if you run over something that isnt visible in the road in the middle of the night, it's less likely to pop the tire or worse yet put a massive dent in your rim that screws you out of 500 bucks for 2 new tires and a rim.

all i know is i'm rolling on 17's with 205/40's and i didnt have any problems at all with acceleration or handling with a non-turbo/vvl motor. the only problem i have is if i take turns to fast with more than a single passenger, the back wheels rub a little.

I was running 205/40/16's, nailed a pot hole on the interstate, bent two rims, and put a knot in one tire. More meat, the better. Lesson learned.

What's stock? 55 or 60 series on 15 inch wheels. I'm guessing 185 width? Are you really trying to tell me this handles and "accelerates" better than putting lower profile tires on? Lower profile tires will handle better no matter what. Your change in size might have set your camber off, giving you the impression of your car handling sloppy. And your idea that it affects your acceleration is in your head, unless your wheels are heavier than stock.

my point exactly

the only reason i'm sunning a 40 series is because they're the tires my car came with, also since they're 17's i dont even know if i could throw 45's in there. if i were to have bought my rims, i would have got the same exact rims but 16's, the same exact tires but they'd be 205/50's or 205/55's.

Anyone that takes your advice is dumber than you. Which is right next to impossible, you couldn't find your ass with a police search party.

Do you mean "Spanish"? Was there some point to you even stating this?

I notice you like to throw around words like "gay" and "Mexican" in a negative or stereotyped fashion.

my car sticks to the road like velcro, and is unrealistically responsive in a slide, i'd seriously compete with anyone in a "best handling b13" competition.

16*7*37mm offset OZ superleggeras; 205/40 BS re950's. Picked the tires for a bit of longevity. Wouldn't recommend the tires at all (very slippery and worthless in the rain), but the size is within a very small hair of the original stock 14's; about a quarter inch away from the rear springs with that offset. The Bridgestones DO have a hefty ridge on the sidewall to keep dinks away from the wheels, saved my $200 a corner wheels several times.
Hey Shawn! You doin' okay bud?

Same, I am on 17" I had to roll the inner rear fenders slightly to take care of that rubbing problem. No other issues, my car is turboed.
