If your ABS light is constantly on then you have a malfunction somewhere in the system. Also when the light stays on like that it also means that it is currently not functioning so you are without ABS at the moment. The first thing I would check is the sensors at the wheel as they can often get a lot of crud built up around them.

really, thats kinda funny.. i read mike kojima say that his abs has saved his car a few times, mine has abs an it saved my @ss the other day big time, i switched lanes an all the sudden traffic stopped... my last se-r didnt have abs an similar situation occured.. and well its dead now because it skid .. you can take the abs out yes... do i reccomend it no.. it doesnt weigh very much, an if you are concerned with weight you can remove your a/c or p/s, spare tire an jack.. which i dont reccomend either.. but hey im no professional so what do i know, how ever if mike kojima said it.. i believe it

i tried to find the exact post but sentra.net is under construction right now so :-\

Classic ABS is junk. It's a slow, 2 channel system. The first thing I do when I purchase a B13 is disabled it.

AMEN. It's reaction time, and damage to "stock" suspension components makes it inferior to today's abs systems.
