If you don't have to run a EGR leave the mani on. No EGR is illegal in 50 of the 50 states in the us. But.. it all depends on your local emmisions laws. If they do any under hood visual inspections you'll get bagged if they don't then all the power to ya. If you are going to swap them do it before the motor is in its a real PITA to do it after.

HELP..engine swap

seems that i will HAVE to keep the engine i just bought...
in that case, is it ABSOLUTELY necessary to switch the manifolds off the us-spec to the j-spec engine?...i mean, will the motor work, start up, work insync with the ecu, etc. i know i will have to drill new o2 sensors in the header, etc, but is switching necessary?
i see that some of you guys have done the swap and have kept the JDM stuff on your cars...anyone that has successfully done this please help, and ANY help would be greatly appreciated to make this swap simplier and quicker....thanks
