Why did I bump this? I was searching for a Grimmer Phillips catalog and I found some real old G's from the Golden years. Many who are still around. Many have left.

I wonder if Nissan knew that the Se-R would be a long lived legend, along witht eh SR20 engine.
Nope, if they did, they would have charged more for them .
Me? Original owner since '91

If NISSAN only knew. The only real problem with the new SE-Rs besides the look is the motor its not on par with any srxxde, the car lost its soul , its still cheaper than the cars in its class execpt for hyundai.
I bought mine in October of 1992....She still resides in my garage....as my toy. Ive been fortunate enought to retire her to fun duties only.
1992 Vail White..With a touch of orange up front.
Stock bottom end with 50# JWT turbo program running Disco Potato
Tein ss Coilovers
And countless other upgrades.
Still have mine - but unfortunately, it is time to part ways!
Got her new in Nov 91 and 201,000 miles later I've decided to sell her. I just emptied out the trunk and my stuff from inside today, and I must say, its a little sad. What a fun little car that was!
Problem is that I think one (or both) of the axles need to be replaced, which is do-able of course, but then what? It's just time. Great, great car, and whoever feels like putting in the work up front, will have a good vehicle.
Just put in a new radiator last spring, recharged the AC with REAL R-12, no 5th-gear pop-out, and the motor still pulls strong as hell. No accidents, and she passed NJ inspection in 11-06, so its still good with smog and all that. I have all the work records for the car since day-one.
Once I get it prettied up a bit, I'll get some pics and let the people here have the first shot at a one-owner classic. It would be great to see her go to someone who understands!
nj92ser you are the kinda guy i want to buy a car from lol!
i also read many of these stories!
i just bought mine in January 08 and i love it!
im the 3rd owner, and i thought that was RARE!
but by the sounds of it, the original owners really loved this car!
most of these posts were from 01,
any of you guys who previously posted on this thread STILL have them?!
Just found this thread, so though I'd add my story.
Bought my '92 new back in May '92. It now has a little over 140,000 miles on it. Has not been modified except for some AGX gas struts. Had to replace the engine at 90,000 miles when I lost the lower end bearings (think it was a hosed up oil change job). Two of my kids have driven it, and it survived even them! Now they are on their own (mostly) and I have the car back. Just recently replaced a couple of the motor mounts. Still on the original clutch. Overall, has been a very reliable car (except for the engine anomaly) and much fun to drive.
Like other posters have alluded to, it's amazing the looks you get when you beat out a 3-series BMW or Accord V-6 from the light (though I would not try to touch the Bimmer in a road race. I know, have an '87 325 also, and way too much understeer in the SE-R).
I am the 2nd owner of mine. I bought it in 94' with 32,000 miles on it. My first upgrade was full suspension, then I put an HKS exhaust on. Drove it like that for 4 years then in 98' I put the Pulsar motor in and the rest is history. Now, fourteen years later, every time I get in for a ride it still feels like the first day I got it, just a hell of alot faster.
Bought mine new Dec 31, 1993. Dealers will do anything to sell a car THAT day. We bought it for Showroom Stock racing since my wife was complaining that the DSR lived on jack stands and she didn't get to race. She won two San Francisco Region SCCA championships and went to the runoffs in '97, the last year the car was eligible. Over the years I "improved" the car until now they won't even allow it in Improved Touring. Currently it is my daughter's daily driver so if you see it around Oceanside wave at Marcy's old race car.

I love to hear histories like this. I found a couple from your previous posts, but you should post a few more pictures from its past.
I've owned a B13 1.6L SE way back in 91, brand spankin new as a graduation gift. I tried really hard to convince my mom to get me an SE-R but she wasn't havin it. So I made due with the GA power but after 6 years, I sold it and bought a 2nd hand SE-R, the B13 I own now. 11 years later and still running strong.
I think most of us at that point in our life were in primary school, not even old enough to have a license, though now im almost 24,(lucky for those who were old enough and bought it new) I think if I new about these classics back then I would have somehow made my parents buy one, and buy it off them for cheap later when I had my license, I live in Canada and I bought mine for student travelling purposes, I never knew what I had till I stared doing research on it, and joined few Nissan car clubs, even though mine is not an SER its an SE, exactly like an ser without the sunroof and stock sr20de.
But now mine is pretty much an ser, lol, and I love it, but im thinking of moving on, I need to buy a new car for a daily driver now, and when im settled in and finish university, im going to call back the guy I sell the car to, and throw in what ever $$ it takes to get it to fit an RB20 in there and do wide fenders to fit a staggered setup, and make it brand spanking new inside out, I’ll probably end up spending $40 k on it, but it will be sick, driving down the street everyone thinking I have a vvl or something, when I step on it and all you hear is a TT skyline.lol
I love this car, and this website, I have respect for all the guys here, everyone has sick B13’s.
Mine's all apart still for sale =0(. I didn't even get to drive it much! But like the asian underworld against the illuminati, I have to get a R35, last skyline till obd3!
I bought my 1991 SER new and put over 300K miles on it. A few months back, it EASILY cleaned the clocks of not one, but 2 new Mustangs! The expression on the second guy's face was really funny when I let him catch up to me--to be beaten by a Nissan was bad enough, but beaten by a GIRL warranted a second look, ;^) Sadly, it blew the headgasket a few weeks later. I cried. I LOVED this car. It was the BEST. Now, I'm offering it up for parts or to someone who is looking for a project car (contact wildfilly@mindspring.com if you're interested). These cars were the great and the new ones just don't hold a candle to them in my book!
I bought mine off a friend of mine that had it since new. SHe drove it for college and then sold it to me through her dad. He was great family friend. I got it in 1998 and it is a 1991. Wish I had gotten one new for myself, but I was in middle school at the time and cars weren't top on my list at that time, lolol!
