Otherwise, you grind off the face of the caliper that well, faces the back of the wheel. The problem is that the stock SE-R wheels are not wide enough to accomodate the bigger calipers.

They fit fine, but you do have to grind them. Forum member Bowlcut had a scanned page from the FSM he colored to show were to grind at one time. I don't know if he still has it. FWIW he's had NX brakes behind stock B13 wheels for several years now.

I have some pictures of se-r pastor's '94 SE-R with AD22VF ground calipers. http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4290240415&idx=3

Lol, of course you need the calipers. If it was only the rotors this would be the worlds cheapest upgrade. You want calipers, rotors, and torque member thingies. If you buying parts off the shelf, make sure to get loaded calipers as they tend to come with the torque member and single calipers don't. The easiest way is to just buy the parts used from a junkyard or someone parting out an NX. If you do that, depending on condition, rebuild the calipers. For reference, mine were $150 including the NX master cylinder. You don't need the NX master cylinder though, your brake bias will be just fine without it. If you do a search all this plus part numbers has been covered many times before. I think even se-r.net has a bit on it too.
I know I shoulda searched 1st, but because someone made a thread already, I decided to be lazy and just hijack it 4 a little bit. I'm still trying to understand my car, which is easier, I might add, in comparison to the Economics that I am trying to major in.
Those are the pics of my calipers, thanks Josh. It is really a trial and error process as you grind them down and fit the wheel. I did it several times then I painted them, put the wheels on, and rolled the car to see where any paint rubbed off then continued grinding. I got my loaded caliper set from Checker and it is a great upgrade. Took the car through the tail of the dragon last month and after 318 curves in 11 miles, the pedal got pretty soft, so I'd look to upgrade the MC soon.
I ground the calipers until there was nothing left of my grinding wheel. With brand new super-think brake pads, the 5.5" wheels still wouldn't clear, so I popped some 3mm spacers on and all was good...
Longer studs and 5-6mm spacers should do the trick if you don't want to grind.

How much longer of a stud? And where would one get such studs and spacer? Courtesy?
