What tools needed, for part out?

Im trying to part out my old classic. I need to know what tools are needed besides the basics (ie, metric sockets/wrenches, screw drivers, and pliers.) I need to pull the motor and tranny and the steering rack, as well as the instrument panel and interior.

What size socket will I need for the axle nuts, and will I need a tie rod seperator??

TIA

To pull out the motor and tranny, you'll need a hoist, a nice pair of cutters (to cut hoses and wires to make the drop nice and easy), a full set of metric sockets (most notably 10, 12, 14, 16, 17, 20), philips and flat screwdrivers, some extensions (3", 6", maybe a 9"), a swivel/universal joint, and an impact wrench like SDF suggested will make things real easy.

axle nuts are a 24mm deep. Auto parts stores will have them labeled fwd axle nut sockets, or something like that. Pretty much everything else NismoSER mentioned, though you might want some combination wrenches in 10,12,14,17 as well. I made do without an impact, but also had a 4' long piece of 3/4" pipe I used as a breaker bar on many things

The axle nut is actually 32mm on B13's, and 34mm(I think) on G20's.

Also invest in a pry bar or a big crow bar.

thanks for the info. I knew I would need a hoist and the basic tols, just wanted to know if there are any speciality tools needed. Thanks for the info on the axle nut size.

Do I need a ball joint or tie rod seperator tool??

it will make it ALOT easier to pull the steering rack out, with a seperator, but its NOT needed. good luck on the project.

Im parting out my 92 SE that has been out of commision for a long time. 92 SE with a sr20de in it.

which bumper do you need Q? I have both, the front has a small dent from hitting a hitch, the rear is in good condition except for the fading red paint.

Let me know if you need anything.
