Lingering Seatbelt Light

I have a problem with my seatbelt light staying on for a few minutes after I have already put my seatbelt on. Anyone else have this problem?

Most of the time it stays on but sometimes it'll turn off once I put the seatbelt on. Is this for the driver's side only? Any remedies?

Its kind of a funny light. It goes off when both driver and passenger have put their belts on. However, if just the driver clicks in the belt, the light will remain on for a little while, and then go off eventually. Its also the case when neither the driver or the passenger buckle up. Nothing to worry about.

cool...one less thing to worry about. I thought I had something stuck in the seat belt sensor or something. Thanks for the help.

i think it does that b/c of the passive automatic seatbelts, you are supposed to have both front setbelts plugged in all the time. you just open the door and kind of slide out or in with the seatbelt already clicked in

All B13's have passive seatbelts, but we got lucky and didn't get the stupid motorized ones.

What you're 'supposed' to do is leave them connected all the time, and sneak in under them. Pretty lame passive setup.... I think someone at Nissan figured out how they could meet the passive requirements and still have 'normal' belts.

I don't know anyone who leaves them connected, and didn't even know they were passive until long after I bought my first SE-R.

A simple fix to make the light go away is to disconnect the plug underneath the seat. If the light bothers you that much that is...
YMMV.
