temp guage

i was just wondering if the temp gauge goes out. well here is what's happening, in the morning the gauge reads cold as i drive down the road the needle moves up to hot really fast. you could still tell the car is not warmed up yet. Now i did put white faces gauges in. everything else works but the temp gauge. i have no indcations that the car is overheating. need some help.

check your temperature sensor, it is probably malfunctioning or dirty. you can locate it fairly easily, it's small, 2 pronged black connector on the passenger side of the engine, it may be able to swivel where it attaches to the block, mine did. i just jiggled it around and the problem went away. this was on my 96 SE-R..

after my white face gauges my temp one went bad and I bought another still no good. once you take the needles out they go bad .you can't let the silver pin in the back move or the spring inside the gauge goes. just an excuse to get a real water temp gauge on a pod my nextupgrade.
