I was wonering what everyone uses on the clssic for a SS muffler on their custom exhaust?? I have a aerospeed and it sounds like it's in a fsh tank and full of water. Any pics would be great. Also i'm lookingfor one that looks like the Greddy. Thanks for the help

Well: Dynomax welded ultra flow is about $76 at: http://www.a-1parts.com/ Universal muffler - no tip. They do stainless also for more $$. They did great service when I ordered --- may depend on who you reach. Pick your own tip. Search custom exhaust - lot's of wide range opinions.

my arospeed sounds perfectly fine. in fact, ben (the main honcho) has told me my se-r is one of the best sounding ones he's ever heard. it's over a year old and still sounds exactly like it did the day it came. no rust either. i have the bomb and it's an awesome muffler.

Aerospeed Muffler

I have a Aerospeed and have no problems with it.....I only wish it was a little louder. Really it is a low back pressure straight through non louver muffler...and thats what you want.

Stock for that sleeper look baby!!!!!!

I hear that the OBX Bomb, despite the company's reputation, is pretty good for the price. FWIW.

I've got the same 3A muffler that Serban has. $89 at AutoZone, believe it or not. Sounds fine, mellow.

no offense serban, but the quality of that video is pretty crappy. crappy enough to distort the sound of your car as it comes flying by. if your car is that loud, and i hope it wouldn't be as mine is loud enough, then you get an award.

for those who want to listen to my se-r with it's arospeed, go here and just click on the 2 .wav files to listen.

the se-r #1 is of a labtop right behind my muffler as i go through the revs. it's a very deep and bassy tone, as it rattles crap on my computer desk (i have a subwoofer, though).

the se-r #2 is of a labtop sitting in my driveway as i go flying by. gives you a nice tone as i come by shifting into 3rd. sounds pretty damn awesome imo.

Monsoon, the video is of crappy quality, if it was any better, the file would be huge, and not everyone is blessed with a fast connection, and I dont want people waiting forever for the video to download.

The sound isnt actually distorted, it echoes, as you can see I was running the car in the woods, and its only that loud because I was doing a quarter mile run, pretty much any exhaust will get loud when you get on it. At idle mine isnt that loud, and just regular driving, it has a mild low rumble.

okay, the echoes were getting me. wasn't paying attention to the woods around, just the motor because i love the intake sound these babies give out.

the n1 costs like $200, i can buy a muffler and do an exhaust system for that much. why spend it on a muffler when i can get the same power out of a $15 dollar muffler? i guess it's all about what you really want out of it. if you buy a muffler for the name, then go apexi i suppose. i bought mine because it was on sale for like $179 and i wanted a muffler that was never used before (or that i knew of), so i picked up the bomb. plus, i loved the way it looked.

the n1 is an awesome muffler, but she can be expensive. if you find one on sale though, i'd recommend it.

I hear you the Apex N1 is expensive, but I bought mine for $180 brand new, now that's a deal so I couldn't pass it up.
