Cigarette lighter won't work w/ phone charger but the fuse is good - whats wrong?

This is in my '94 Sentra LE. The fuse is fine, the phone charger worked last week but now it doesn't. I also plugged in my friend's radar detector, nothing. Anyone have a similar problem? Whats wrong with it and how do you/can you fix it? I also noticed there is no light coming out from it when the car is on.

I found this part # on SE-R.net but I have no idea if this is what's broken or what I even need? :

Escution-Cigarette Lighter Lamp 25339-79986 NX2000, Sentra 4.95

Never seeing the word "escution" before I looked it up on Webster.com - closest thing I found was "escutcheon" which is:

1 : a defined area on which armorial bearings are displayed and which usually consists of a shield
2 : a protective or ornamental plate or flange (as around a keyhole)
3 : the part of a ship's stern on which the name is displayed

I know this might be a stupid suggestion...but did you pull off the bezel to make sure that the harness is connected to the lighter socket?

The center console trim; its the black piece that goes around the HVAC, radio, and ashtray. Its held in by 4 screws, the thing you gotta take out to replace your radio. The hazard, defrost, and sometimes the foglight buttons clip onto it.

Hehe. Sometimes we overlook the obvious things. We've all been there before! Glad you found the problem, Jordan.
