source for used engine

My stepson's car just died this morning, haven't seen it yet. Anyone got suggestion on my next course of action? I'm thinking about replacing the engine. Can someone point me to the right source for this? Thank. It's a 1993 with auto trans by the way. Thank.

www.soko.com usually has cheap NA Sr20's (about 400-500 with shipping to a business).
