don't laugh - marvel mystery oil

its just hydraulic fluid, nothing mysterious about it,

but I pour about 6 ounces in per tank, (keep a couple of bottles with 6oz each in the trunk by the jack, wrapped in old RD350 innertubes so they dont rattle too much) and I swear I get a slightly slight smoother running engine, plus 1+ more MPG.

I like the idea of pre-mix. My RD350 does not have any oil in its crankcase, it runs on premix (well it has a pump that dribbles it into the intake manifold) and thats all it needs for rings and bearings, so I got thinking, why wouldn't a little lube in my upper cylinders help out a bit.

Also, supposed to help keep valves free of built up gunk.

Call me old fashioned.

s13conv gave some good advice about bobistheoilguy.com. If you do a search in the "additives" forum for MMO, you'll find some very specific information. BITOG is probably my favorite car website because there is a lot of info. that is based on actual testing and analysis. Based on the empirical tests on that website, I changed brands on oil filters, additives (gas and oil), motor oil and gear oil.

crap!!! We sell like one bottle every 3 months at Advance. Anything is suspect if it can be put in "all" the engine fluids.

Its true, most cars die of rust, neglect, or accidents etc, not motor wearout, and never get any additives.

"I don't use it and I never had a problem"

Same can be said for never having dated a really pretty woman or having drunk a fine wine.
