1994 front strut brace

I am looking for a front strut bar for my 1994 classic. I looked at the ractive ones and they seem alrigth for the price. However i am seeing on websites that they usaully have conflicting part numbers listed for the 1994. What's up with that. Some websites list one number and some list another. Who in here has a 1994 with a front strut bar. Is there some kind of fitment issue.

you can get one on ebay if you wanna go cheap.
the b14 ones fit the classics too so you can look for those too. probably will cost you about 20 bucks. 94 isn't a special year so all strut bars made for the b13(91-94) an b14(95-98) will fit.

Sweet. I was unaware that any b14(95-98) bar will work...i will look for those as well. I remember reading that 1994 was a special year because of some issue with the ABS. Thanks.

I found a used Stillen bar; apparently Stillen has stopped making one that they specify for the B13 SE-R - but they still make one for the 1.6 liter (!?). I'm waiting to get the Hyperco springs, so haven't put the bar on yet, but my guess is that one issue is clearance over the low-port intake paraphernalia, which looks to be a bit taller than the high-port stuff on the 91-93 (the '93 I found had a low-port G20 engine put in it). If a b14 bar fits, great. Haven't done it yet. Have also not seen the 15-20-buck bars off Ebay. My guess is that it would be hard to do decent technology for that kind of money. If all you want to do is impress yourself or your girlfriend, they may be okay. If you're interested in being quicker, you may want to spring for a bar from a known manufacturer.

actually, now that you mention it, I remember seeing a post a while ago, about someone with an ebay strut bar that did interfere with the ABS. i think there are primarily two different ebay designs:

See this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tego ry=33591
See how the bar is kinda offset from the brackets? This will clear the ABS junk on the passenger side of the car that's right near the strut tower.

But they also have this style:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tego ry=33591
See how the bar goes straight out from the bracket? I think this is the one that some people are having trouble with it interfering with the abs stuff on the classic.

So I guess just try to get the offset bar, though i think most of them on ebay are of the offset variety.

i see thanks for the help...but what you see in the picture might not be what you get. One of the reasons i do not want to buy an ebay bar. This one looks pretty good....you can kinda see the extra thickness of the metal from the pic. I realize it is not the right car but the design is probably similar.

buy a lower brace not an upper brace, unless you can buy both at the same time. Lowerbrace makes HUGE difference, upper brace a small difference.

Shig Higashi makes a very nice lower brace to connect the otherwise unsupproted lower suspension attachment arms.

buy upper brace second then third buy rear upper brace which also makes a small, but nice, improvement.
