Springs Binding Hyperco Gen. 2

I've just installed Hyperco Gen2 springs with AGX's this week. I previously stated I had Gen.1. I was mistaken. It's amazing what you forget, which leads to this post.

I did this job on my B14 before, so it went pretty routinely. Obviously rears are different, and a bit more difficult but I had no problems really.

I just put them with the writing straight up, but the fronts seem to be sitting with the first three binding up! Are they supposed to sit like this? Do I have to flip them over? The rears look fine.

I didn't even notice, as the car handles so friggin well now. I am having trouble approaching the limits to see exactly how it is improved. Long Island is too crowded. Only problem is that the exhaust hits the rear sway bar now quite a bit even after I shifted it over a bit.

They're supposed to be that way, you have nothing to worry about Benny.

Thanks dude. Sorry if I hassled you, but after all this time I was wiggin. So glad they are Gen. 2's though. That was a pleasant surprise.

Those coils keep the springs from rattling and hold them in the perch.

So did you just swap a set of springs for the same basic springs?

Chris...In this post you stated that the springs should be installed with the smaller coils towards the top. I really don't think that it matters but is there really a correct way?

Yea, aren't those upside down? I sure hope so, cause I did them with the small coils to the top like you said in that other thread.

They ride GREAT BTW, nice smooth ride, and handle great.

All's I know is I installed them with the writing ups-wise. I only managed to find a pic of the rears on a car, and they were on with that side down. At some point I said 'F' it, & fitted them. I think a lot of old pics aren't being hosted any longer? Maybe its my Mac.
Stock shaved bump stops, recycled rubber spring seats, and boots. I had to 'repair' the rear dust boots though. New thrust bearings.

No. I swapped out stock springs with blown struts (apparently all four upon inspection) on stock wheels and some dodgy tires. I put in KYB AGX under what turned out to be Gen 2 Hyperco's. I thought I had Gen.1's but found otherwise from comparing Chris's gallery pics (which show the springs compared with pro-kits, and the writing up. I thought.

I also bought 205/50/15 Proxes zx4's on B14 SE-R wheels too. I pussed out on the ES control arm, steering rack, and new ball joint that I have lying there waiting. It really is quite impressive though.
